Hello there. I wasn't entirely sure where to post this, so I hope this is an ok spot. I draw stuff. A lot. But often I can't for the life of me think of what to draw so I end up drawing an eye 38 times. Care to give me a purpose? I'll draw some character sketches/weapons/armour for you, if you'd like. I know that I'm not all that great, but it's totally free so what've you got to loose? You'll just have to give me some information on your character. Describe it in as much detail as you'd like me to draw it. Things like race, scars, hair colour, height, weight etc. So yeah...
Interesting idea! I can't say I "need" character art because I'm just barely starting what is going to be a long story (writing as a slow pace regularly since January). However, I'm doing a TON of work on the mythology and culture in my story, which is set in the VERY near future, and trying to visualize how people dress. My concept is set 20 years in the future, and isn't all that different from today in terms of technology, but the popular culture is very much influenced by the early 1960s retro styles (girl-groups, Jackie Kennedy, Mad Men, etc.) along with a hip-hop counterculture that is based on the idolization of 1960s militant radicalism (Fidel Castro, Black Panther Party, etc.). The actual plot deals with "the next time we have a 1960s-level cultural/political revolution, so I'm trying to build a world that is very modern in terms of technology, social media, an communication - but which takes all of it's cultural cues from the period right before the JFK assassination and right before the Beatles showed up. And I want it to be plausibly realistic as an alternate future, bit I'm not an artist OR a fashionista. So - if you're interested - I can send some character sketches or cultural info. Any thoughts?
Sounds like a very cool project, I'm definitely interested I'm having a bit of trouble visualising the clothing you described, but if you could show me an example of something close to what you have in mind I'd be happy to draw it with a few tweaks until it looks right. I'm not that great with drawing fabric in general though, but I'll still give it a good shot. It would be great if you could send through the character sketches you have.
Sorry for delayed response - busy weekend for me - but this sounds cool! I'll send over some details in a private message within the next hour or so. I know it's not fantasy but if you need something to draw, I have something I'm having trouble visualizing, so it could be fun.
Do you have any examples of your artwork? I may be interested as well, especially since a friend of mine has done some drawings for me (but she's much too busy to draw everything).
