Guess this really did deserve it's own thread. Favorite novel? Fulgrim and Flight of the Eisenstien. Next person favorite novel and who is your favorite god?
Khorn. Me My Faves are Flight Of The Eisenstien and Galaxy In Flames Malleus Brothers Of The Snake and Soul Drinker. And now I should go walk my dog. lol
My favs are definitely Dark Apostle by Anthony Reynolds (Love Varnus, best betrayer of all time!) Necropolis by Dan Abnett its part of the Ghosts series, third book. (I love Commissar Kowle, he's what a real Commissar looks like, ruthless, brutal, unforgiving, evil , no more "love your men", more of "If you run, i'll shoot you" ) Although I do think Larkin and Mkoll are awesome, And Gaunt definitely pwns. Just my thoughts. Armor of Contempt another in the Ghost series, Belladon ftw! Just a few goodies.
Ah, ever the Fallen Angels fan i see Rav.. Oh, as far as the favorite god question (If not self explanatory ^^). Slaneesh, because pain is sexy, thats my motto (Not a sadist or Masochist lulz) (Batteries not Included)
Haha, nothing like the Black Legion to put a little fear into the squirming vermin of the Imperium.. , Yea, Im bad.
Actually I began my Death Guard as Black Legion Marines simply because I really wasn't sure of the color scheme for the puss buckets.
So rumpy, I'm taking a guess you like Typhus the Reaper? Love his terminator figurine, and his scythe, looks friggin great. Me, well i like my characters with mostly Chaos Black, a rim of Gold, and silky, lavish details in Mauve (It's not PINK!...yes it is ). As for the Death Guard colors, the best paints are Dwarf Flesh, Vomit Green (Sounds delicious right?) and Rotting wood (Not sure the exact name but it's an awesome fade of brown). So what about you Rav? fav legion and colors?
While waiting for Raven ......... I began to slowly change my Black Legion into more Nurglesque colors. It is just so easy to do with black. Now, you'd never know they were once BL. BTW, I'm actually not a fan of the Typhus mini. I like my Death Guard to look like their armor is litterally falling apart.
That's bloody sweet, so you have little custom things you like to put on your minis? I have an Imperial Guard army that is Slaneeshi, and i have this veteran seargent (I call him Heartbreaker ) that i glued on a piece of pink silk like a little cape (came from an old curtain, I basically took the entire thing apart for my army lol. My mumz was non too happy when she tried to go looking for it and saw my little men on the table ). I like the little things that make an army unique, so, do you have any cool things in your horde of walking dead?
I like to make my soldiers look dirty. So I paint them up nice and pretty, and then add some smoke to them. It leaves a black film that ranges from nearly transparent to full black. They look like they've been fighting in the dirt and hiding in the mud. I would love to see some pictures of your figures, they sound great.
Oh me I like the Night Lords Best of All. Kromage makes an excellent lord Lighting claws with wrist mounted Plazma/bolter combi and a real goer for a demonic sword. I love the colour Midnight Blue brushed over an undercoat of Storm blue to highlight followed by blue ink to creat that metallic colouring and then the painted Lighting in electric blue and white. really highlights the evil buggers. And those I have with Bat Wings on their helms look owesome. I also colour their flesh a pale with over a grey undercoat. And Sahaal makes for a really Good Captain/Champion. I'm waiting to get a batch of rapturs to add to the army. Should go nicely. Yes that works to. On some of the Lords I took my lighter to their shoulders and Legs gives a really good twisted look.
Horus Rising was but the first in the Horus Heresy Series. The best is Flight Of The Eisenstien when Garro makes his escape to warn the Emperor. Remember Horus Rising was only to set the scene. False Gods is the book he becomes a chaos pawn. Book three Galaxy in Flames is when he openly dnounces the Emperor and turns on the Loyalists Like Garvial Tarvits and Targaddon. But the fourth was my Fave. Then we go back to the early days with Fulgrim which charts Fulgrims and his chapters fall from grace into the pits of hell. Descent of Angels explains what happened before half of the Dark Angels betrayed El Jonson and the Dark Angels. Legion gives the secret of Alpharius away. Though I won't spoil it for those that haven't read it. And Battle For The Abyss is when the Word Bears launched on the Ultramarines. And Mechanicium is about the Mechanicus turning on one another and Rogal sends a fleet of Imperial Fists to Mars to investigate. All good.
Likewise, it sounds pretty cool the way your soldiers look all muddied up. That's a sure sign of veterancy!
You've never heard of them. They are set in the 40,000 millenium. Basically click on this Link. Wahammer 40,000 and then theres the 10,000 years earlier set in the 30,000 millenium. Again click on the link. Horus Heresy.
