I was just watching the movie White Nights.

Even though it is not a break dance in florescent multilayered asymmetrically cut gear with five Swatch watches up one arm kinda' movie, it is a quintessentially 80's movie.

There is no Pee Wee Herman or Cyndi Lauper. There is no Molly Ringwald or borderline cute/politically incorrect Asian actor. There is no fix up the youth center in five minutes flat with some paint and good spirits montage.

But the Phil Collins-ness was spilling out all over my living room floor.

The pre-Soviet collapse tension concerning the Soviet nations is at its apex in this movie.

I felt like I was sixteen again with my hair buzzed close except for the one six inch wide, seven inch long hair wing carefully hair sprayed in place over one eye.

    it was slightly awesome. :)

^^ Huh?? Lol. Well, I loved The Breakfast Club and Pretty in Pink--both 80s movies, I think.

    Oh, yeah!

Pointy, pointy physically impossible anime hair ain't got nothin' on what I used to make happen in the bathroom every morning with a flat iron and a can of Aquanet in 1985.

Well, as a full fledged, card carrying 80's teen, I must tell you it was a lot of fun.

And we didn't even have cell phones or texting.

We didn't even have the internet yet.

And still, we had a bitchen' rad time. ;):D

Then I should probably not introduce you to "Country Road" by John Denver. You'll be very depressed. It's about going home to the plains.

I don't really consider Seattle the plains...but ok. My parents moved me to denver though, so yeah a John Denver song might make me slightly home sick.

Sad! :( This is the first year that Joel and I have our own tree. I broke the last one, but then I found out yesterday that Target had their fake trees half off, so I bought a new one. And it's beautiful.

I don't get a tree...but I will be getting a new floor...so trade off. Besides...last year Juneau just kept "redecorating" the tree anyway

Just sitting here trying to goad myself to write, in this rare moment of silence.

    How are you?

Good morning to you Carmina as well.
