Alright. I have my essays done, My application for a writing workshop turned in, and food in my belly. How about you?
Is gender dysphoria really a problem? I went to a therapist for a while, I was having some real issues dealing with the death of a friend.
Sorry to hear that Jack, I hope you are able to get the treatment you need! As for myself, I have papers upon papers to write for my last year of university, and I cannot find the motivation to do it
Hmmmm.... Tequila hey? I may be able to get motivated, but I'm afraid the quality of my work would most likely decline..... Does beer help with motivation?
Yeah, it's really stressful and they have to diagnose you with gender dysphoria before you can be prescribed with hormones. I've been in and out of therapy for depression and stress, so they think bipolar might be the problem and it was just never diagnosed.
I watched two shows today: One was about the Donner Party of 1846 and the other was a scenario about what would happen if the Earth stopped spinning. I've learnt two things: 1) NEVER camp out in the Serra Nevada mountains during the winter. Just...don't! 2) Humanity would basically be thrown back to the pre-electrical age and struggle on what's essentially a new planet. Oh and Hawaii becomes a super continent and is one of the last habitable places left, so if the Earth stops spinning, I'm headed for Hawaii.
I found the whole show kinda bogus. I mean, if the Earth stopped rotating, then logically (to me) it would mean that one side would be in forever daylight and the other in eternal darkness, yet they show the sun rising and setting. Um...correct my thinking, but when last I checked my astronomy, the sun doesn't move, right? It's fixed at the center of the solar system so how could it be moving across the Earth's sky if the Earth's...well...not moving anymore?
Depends on what you mean by "stops spinning." The more likely scenario is that it is tidally locked, meaning te same side always faces the Sun, like Mercury, or like the Moon with respect to the Earth. Or you could have the (unstable and therefore less likely) scenario that its rotation relative to the stellar background is stopped, in which case one day is also one year. We could also become tidally locked with the Moon, which is a relatively stable state, and one day becomes equal to one month.
