True, I went to this football match last week It was hilarious the referee was red in the face the whole match. because the captain kept arguing even when he sent him off you was shouting arguements from the sideline it was the funniest thing I had ever seen in my life. I mean it wouldn't of been funny but he was arguing about decisions from a match 3 weeks ago it was just a lol moment
Sounds like me. Only I'd have a few more choice words in there. And the ref would be the one making decisions based on things I'd done 3 weeks before. (I did actually have a referee who used to send me off on principle. Nine times he did it in seventeen matches, booking me in seven of the other eight. Bear in mind the rest of my record reads played 400, sent off 8, booked 80ish, and you come to realise the guy had it in for me. He was also the ref who sent me off quickest - about four seconds after coming on as a sub, straight red for a 'two-footed lunge', which it most definitely wasn't considering I got the ball and got clattered for my efforts by their guy on the follow-through.)
I think there used to a tech thread but I cannot find it. I am wondering if anyone can recommend a better anti-virus program. I have Mcafee, but I read online that it is crappy and tonight I got a weird "computer is unprotected" fake looking message window, but nothing showed up in the antivirus window or spybot. I hear AVG is good, anyone have that?
I have the free version of AVG and it works wonderfully. It's not perfect, but it doesn't bog your computer down like Norton or McAfee does. I've found in the computer world, the free programs tend to be better or at least as good as their paid-for counterparts. I would also recommend getting Ad-Aware as a secondary virus program. This program is also a free download.
Hey since we're on tech stuff can anyone recommend graphics software that could help design a logo? I have the latest Photoshop but I don't think it's terribly good for that sort of thing.
Yeah I have read better reviews for avg; thinking I will give the free version a whirl. I don't want to roaming the internet with a shoddy firewall after all. As for a graphic program, I use gimp. I do not know how ps operates but gimp seems user friendly enough for simple things.
I also use GIMP. It is a free program as well, but I don't see how Photoshop wouldn't be able to design a new logo for you.
Oh yeah, I used to have McAfee, it sucked. Yeah, AVG is good, all my computery people I know recommend that. I would've thought Photoshop would be okay to do that. Hmm, I don't know any other than GIMP like others suggested. I'm sure a quick internet search would find you an answer though.
AVG is great. It's honestly beyond me why anyone would pay for virus protection. Besides, Mcafee and Norton are both a pile of arse anyway.
Norton normally causes more problems than it is worth. Every technician I've ever spoken to says to avoid Norton as it is the most common and the easiest to get around. AVG has saved my computer from many attempts, I swear by it.
You guys are right. Photoshop appears to be more than sufficient for logo design. I have a lot to learn about it! xx
I had a brilliant idea: After I finish a novel, I can put in an extra "bonus" page entitled outtakes where I write down scenes that I thought would work, but couldn't, or I have the characters break the fourth wall and talk to me, the audience like they were actually actors in the back stage. What do you think? Lame? Not lame?
Don't put it in the book. If it doesn't fit into the book, it don't. Putting a lot of irrelevant stuff into it will just be a waste of paper. the novel should only be the relevant top quality work. But if you as a writer have a blog, putting some extra material up there after your book been published for the more curious fans might be a good way to keep up readers interest in you work
Well, I only thought this because a book I read had a section dedicated to would-be scenes and ideas she had, but didn't work.
Have to agree with w176 that it probably shouldn't end up in the published copy of the book. No reason why you can't write it though! Sounds funny!
No, no, the extra material goes in a deluxe, gilded, hardcover edition of your book with ledger notes, commentary, and an uncut edition of your work, that is the way to milk my man. That's what I'm doing.
I sitting and thinking about how to "embellish" my resume as whatever I have there isn't working, haha.
Can you hang a spoon on your nose? Roller-derby's always impressive . Are you on a team? Today I celebrate my 14th birthday . I'm just going out to lunch with the 'rents, but I had a birthday thing earlier, and it was great that Friday my jazz band (in which I am a jazz flautist ;D) packed into a charter bus and played at the Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival in Moscow (not Russia). Just got home like... an hour ago O_O. I only got three hours of sleep last night, too. All of my male friends let me attempt to sleep with my head on their shoulders on the bus, but with no avail XD.
