Woah, yeah, I wouldn't be able to resist either. Lucky! I really want to work in a bookshop. And all those cheap books.. I'm practically drooling at the thought of all these books.
Ohhh, I'm so jealous of you right now. Me too! It's weird, when some of my work friends found out I was going back to school to get a degree in library science, they were like "why would you want to be a librarian?" Uhhh...do you know me?
I just got paid $50 for less than 45 mins of writing (including my research time). I LOVE business majors!
But they're not. I drew six fictional races within a span of thirty minutes. I can barely remember the names of half of them, but that's okay. XD
They may have had some sort of issue which prevented them from doing the work themselves. Maybe they just know they can't write an A paper, but that an ENGLISH major can. Maybe they just love to shower me with money. I hope it's that last one...
I'd LOVE to work in a bookstore for my high school job. They're so clean and nice to peruse through. I'd spend an entire day browsing one, if my parents wouldn't get so irritated ;D. Like others, I am a stingy book-buyer. I usually think, "Can I borrow this YA fiction from the library? Would it really be worth spending money on this humor book?" I got a $50 Barnes and Noble gift card for Christmas. I ended up spending a good 4/5 of it on an Alex Flinn book and a guide to art journaling >_<. Books are 'spensive . Also, the really nice, unlined journals are like, $12 D:. I was scanning through the posts and I realize that a lot of people here on WritingForums have blogs. What's it like? What do you write about? Do you have a following? What's the best blogging site to use (Blogger, Tumblr, Wordpress, etc.)? I vaguely considered starting one a couple months ago, but decided to wait 'til I don't have such a school workload on my back XD.
I like wordpress. It's pretty intuitive to use, and the interface is good. I haven't used any of the others, so I can't comment on them, but wordpress works.
From what I've seen, most blogs are just idiotic ramblings. Some have good stuff, but others are a bit more.... um...imagine sitting down on the bus and asking people-- totally at random, to tell you about their lives and what is on their minds. That is what surfing the blogoshpere is like.
Mine probably falls into the idiotic ramblings camp. I generally post updates on my writing/publishing, occasional insights into my life, reviews of books/films/whatever, and my own political opinions.
It probably is. I, for one, often have to restrain the urge to shower you with money. I have three blogs. One is almost private (like three of my close friends have access to it, that's it), and I typically post there when I have a big issue on my mind that I want to either vent or get advice about, the second is a blog about how life is going, used pretty much to keep my MIL updated so we don't get the third degree from her constantly (though that pretty much happens anyway...), and the third is probably pretty similar to what Kyle described. I post about whatever comes in my head...anything from current social issues to personal problems I'm having. I think since I started derby, each update has been about that...I'm afraid I've become a little obsessed. Oh, and I use Blogger for my public blogs, livejournal for my private one (simply because when I first created the blog, way back when, lj was pretty popular). I like Blogger well enough, but haven't used Tumblr or Wordpress, though, so I can't really comment on how good they are.
Three beers, a plate of enchiladas, and some time with friends... done. Several diet cokes and a stack of homework.... in progress. Procrastinate on writing forum....
I was going to join the international procrastinator's club, but never got around to mailing in my application.
Tiring, but better than I expected. We had two days to get all of our stuff from one apartment to the other with only me and Joel to move things, so I didn't think we'd get it all done, but we did. We had some interesting issues with the new place, like our refrigerator door not closing (I had to tape it shut. So annoying.), but maintenance came out today, most of it is fixed, and most of our stuff has finally been unpacked. Hooray! I'm working on your story right now, and I will *hopefully* have it ready for you tomorrow afternoon. I'm a slow reviewer... :/
Moving sucks. Think in the last 3 years i've had to pack crap and move it at least four times. Frigging blows chunks of crap.
Amen. We moved from Joel's mom's into my brother's old apartment last April, then helped my brother move all his furniture and such out of said apartment like a month and a half later, purchased our own furniture and such and moved that in, only to pack all our stuff up again in June so we could move up here. Then we packed up again and moved apartments...three and a half moves in under a year? Lots of fun.
No worries, take your time and breathe (you earned it!!!). Next time I move I'm renting a huge Uhaul and doing it in one trip. This last time took way too many trips in my little Ranger.
I think I'm turning British. I've adopted the slang into my vocabulary, taken an interest in their literature, admiring their history and current Queen, wanting to have a British flag in my room and have even considered living in Scotland in my later years, chilling out in the pubs and started to take a liking for football (Not our American football, football the rest of the world plays). So, get ready Scotland! I may just move up there in a few decades.
