I just hit my elbow so hard against a table that my half of my left hand went numb. Weird. Never had that happen before. I might get a bruise on my elbow. This is exciting. I haven't had a bruise in a long time. I one time got a bruise on my right palm from slamming it against a door knob.
Another earthquake in Japan (7.9) Looks like they were hit by an early Tsunami too. God damn...seems a lot of crap is happening lately. Esp the pacific rim area. Edit Hearing rumours its been upgraded to an 8.8.
Well it is close to 2012... I remember like last year you couldn't go a week without some new earthquake making the news. Well I think it was last year. or was that planes?(is that even a word? I mean right now that word just sounds really really weird at the moment to me.) Ok serious Unit7 time. Thats a pretty serious earthquake. Especially if it reached 8.8.
This part of the world is just going major loco. With it being close to 2012, should i be on the look out for reptilians. Looking at one of the bays on the news. You can see water is getting sucked out for the next tidal wave. Edit The aftershocks on their own are large. (Though, least Japan is used to this kind of thing). OMFG you can see the tidal wave come up the river! OMFG Its HUGE! The wave just rolled over small coastal cities....nothing left! You could see it roll up over some pars of the highway where they had no chance.
Seeing these eyewitness videos and hearing these reports is scary. God, I just hope everyone's okay. Words can't express the horror and sorrow this event is causing, and I'm just hoping that aid will reach Japan as soon as possible, and that people will be okay, and pray that there won't be more quakes. This reminds me of last year in January with the Haiti quakes, except this is much worse.
I kept watching videos on Youtube with the whirlpool. I couldn't believe seeing it. I have never seen something like that...ever. Disaster movies, sure, but never real life. It's astonishing that Godzilla didn't come out. ha.
I honestly thought I was looking at a picture of a hurricane. Then I saw the boat.... ... Congratulations Kyle! I hope its a great wedding with an awesome reception!
I hate it when I have nightmares all night long and then have to go to work. Well...I hate having to go to work in general. But it's worse because of the nightmares. And because Joel worked early this morning, so he isn't here. And I probably won't see him until like 10 tonight. Miserable day, and it's only 7:30 AM. :/
Heya and a hearty congrats. I seriously hope I'm not missing out on an open bar! Yeah, it is absolutely tragic. The sad thing for me is that the government seems to be downplaying it by suggesting there are only a small amount of dead and missing. Why can't they just state that this was a catastrophic event that killed more people than is acceptable, I.E. Zero. Just curious how people found out about it. I don't watch cable anymore, so I found out about it by a post about Maru the cat, who is one of my favorite cats in the world--Icanhascheezburger.
I've no doubt there is a LOT of downplaying and we'll never get the full story. When this first happened they said the Reators were perfectly okay. Perfectly okay my butt.
I found out about it on the radio. They said that Tokyo was hit by a tsunami, but then I found out later that Tokyo actually suffered little damage and casualties. Then I saw flashes of pictures on the news while I was in a tankstation and those looked horrible! I only found out yesterday night how bad the tragedy actually was. Haven't heard or read any details about the Japanese prime ministers reaction... Downplaying - what did he say then? I don't see why he would do that, doesn't make any sense- he could use all the humanitarian help he can get. And the political capital as well.. What I HAVE read in the newspaper today, from a Belgian journalist on the field, is that the Japanese people living in other cities, act like nothing has happened. Life goes on. This might have to do with the Japanese culture - they are really reserved about everything. I don't know, just guessing.
Actually, the U.S. media has been UP-playing the disaster, making it sound like the entire country has been completely wiped off the face of the earth and that the nuclear problem is just as bad as Chernobyl. I'm not saying it's not terrible, but a friend of mine frequently visits Japan and he has not canceled his trip despite the fact that he will be there in the next few weeks. The only thing that's really changed for him is that he can't go to Sendai like he was planning.
Yeah, they seem to be overexaggerating things just a tiny little bit. Sure some cities got affected, but the country's still running fine and the nuclear problem is just a little thing to be mended. Hardly anything of Chernobyl-size.
