I've never watched a full episode of Dr. Who.

I thought I had my three references in line for my college application, but then one of them pointed out that she hasn't seen me in person for many, many years. :( She ran an online discussion group that I was part of, but I guess that doesn't count. Time to go find a new reference...sigh.

Man just got back from a downtown club watching my new favorite band/singer, Elisapie Isaac...:)

I even got to chitchat, though I was mostly fawning, she is gorgeous, and they were gracious enough to sign a copy of their CD :D

    Great to hear Pallas!

I just tracked down what sort of razor I just inherited. It's a Gillette Tech Ball end (gold) from 1946-1950. I'm pretty excited about it.

My father once tried to teach me how to use a straight razor, considering i have a five o'clock shadow 7 days a week, we can see how great that went.

After 3 days of differing fortunes, it's been back to the dissertation today. I say 'back to the dissertation'. I mean reading cases and wistfully looking outside while the sun shines, not actually writing anything down. Work is always easier when it's miserable outside.

    First try?

It took me two tries, not that I actually drive though...there was this kid that was going to pass, but when he came in at the end to just coast to a stop, he accidentally mounted the front wheel on the sidewalk...failed right there....what a shame.

I've been putting it off for a couple of weeks. It was starting to get annoyingly long and the warm weather is setting in slowly up here...

    Nice job, Gi,congratulations!

Yeah.....I haven't cut my hair since like November of 2009. :/ Probably going to drive me insane when it starts to warm up here again.

Joel's flights got canceled today because it's so windy, so now we get to spend the day together. :D Fun times.

We love you too, Gi. :)

So...Joel's birthday is Sunday, and we're driving down to Arizona for the weekend. Rather than saying anything to me about a birthday cake for Joel and finding out if maybe I was planning on making one or would like to help make one, his mom decided to just ask Joel what kind of cake he wanted and not say a word to me about it. Does it make me a total dick that now I'm making it my mission to find a kick*ss funfetti recipe to make from scratch, so I can one-up her cake? I kind of feel like it does...but it irritated me that she didn't say anything to me about it.

If he likes chocolate cake, sourdough Chocolate Cakes are AMAZING.

I am officially the best English Major ever. Period, hands down. Dig this "Just pulled out of my hat" paper topic for Brideshead Revisited:

^You definitely beat me, Kyle. I was not stellar at coming up with paper topics.

Joel requested the funfetti because he likes to feel like he's a little kid, and apparently funfetti cake is little kid cake. He's actually kind of upset that I'm making it from scratch instead of using the boxed mix, but how am I supposed to one-up her cake by baking exactly the same thing? I actually felt kind of bad because when I asked him that, he was like "so it doesn't matter what I want?" I was like uh.......

    of course it does?

Rules are under "site announcements" at the very top of the menu when you first log on to the site.

What threads are you confused about?

Just in case anyone was curious, I just made the best funfetti cake ever. And the frosting is effing delicious.
