I'm going to have to cross London tomorrow... I'm thinking, early as possible, to a) avoid the Royal Wedding tourists, and b) avoid the anti-terrorism cops. I do find it amusing that London is full of tourists, and the whole of Britain has collectively sodded off for the four-day bank holiday weekend
I guess it's because the media likes to hype it up. I mean, the prince (William?) will potentially be the future king should Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Charles die. Of course, Queen Elizabeth II shall never die! Long may she reign! Just a few more years and she'll topple Queen Victoria off her "Longest Reigning Monarch" throne.
No one cares. The British aren't interested. It's like the AV referendum. The people who are supposed to care just couldn't give a ****. This is why I love my country. Long live apathy!
Same. Well, a Facebook friend posted a picture of a William and Kate mug, but that's it. I think it's so absurd that people have camped outside Westminster Abbey and made such a fuss. I know Kate is going to become Royalty and be the future Queen (and William future King, obviously) but still...
I know. I know more people who are scoffing at the wedding memorabilia than will ever think of buying it. I'm more fond of the British Parliament than I will ever be of the royal family.
Haha, yeah! The only reason I'd buy the wedding memorabilia is to sell it later on as it'll be worth quite a bit probably.
I've got a work experience placement with the Sunderland Echo! I just wouldn't buy it. I always find it creepy when people go to extremes though - I remember hearing about one woman who dedicated a whole room to Diana.
Woo! The wedding had just invaded my classroom! My History of England professor just passed out to us copies of the route Kate Middleton and Prince William will go to get to Westminister Abbey. First they shall start in Buckingham Palace. Then, they'll go up through the Mall where they'll have the horse guards parade. Then pass Whitehall Street to Westminister Abbey for the wedding. After the wedding, they'll proceed through St. James's Park then finally back to Buckingham Palace. Yeah, he's now giving us a blow by blow account of how the wedding's gonna go down.
And you're one of them. Holy crap, at first I was like "wait...what?" That's so cute. As for the Royal Wedding, I can't watch Say Yes to the Dress because like every five minutes, Randy is saying something about the royal wedding. "This is how Kate will probably do her makeup." "This is what kind of dress Kate will probably wear." Dude, for real? I do not care.
Does this mean I am quite literally the only person on the planet not giving a toss about the Royal Wedding?
Actually, I want to watch it. Well, not the whole thing, but a little part, when the marrying happens. Not because they're royal, I just love weddings. But I can't. *cries*
No, you're not the only person on the planet that doesn't give a toss. I sure as hell don't. My teacher does, though. He still has time to get to the UK. Just 24 hours, lol. XD Could make for an interesting thriller...
Shhh! He doesn't have to know. I have to admit, I love weddings too...so I would probably want to watch it, except all the hype behind this one has kind of ruined it for me. I like small weddings. You have three feet?
