I know this isn't the place for politics, but I have to post this.

Who else is reading the news? Osama Bin Laden is dead!

Jesus, I hope your friend is doing ok. :(

Several of my friends posted that on Facebook, so we just turned on the news. Crazy stuff!

I was looking up last minute Canadian election information and saw this. Can't say I expected to see that headline.

Speaking of, what is now somewhat anti-climatic news, there's a Canadian federal election tomorrow. I am excited at the prospect of an NDP surge, but terrified of a Harper majority. Either way, I'm going to be spending way too much time refreshing CBC's website tomorrow night.

I'm watching Obama's speech right now. Oh my god, this is amazing news. I seriously hope this is true, and I think it is. And all I can say is, thank god.

    *pops in to say something*

I think another problem I'm having with my writing is that I'm trying so hard to be, "that person that gets published" that I have forgotten Why I started writing in the first place! :(

That's bad to say, but it's true.....I think I need to just relax and write whatever/however I want and see if it doesn't come to me easier.:)

I try too hard and don't enjoy it anymore:(

So I will start tonight with that in mind:D

I think it's good news, not great news. The most important thing about this is what happens within the next year or so.

    Regardless - I'm glad he's dead.

Likewise, Lemex. I'm thinking about the future, though. Wasn't Bin Laden just a spiritual leader? With him dead, his followers are gonna give their all to avenge him.

I'm just saying, we should be extra vigiliant now.

Oh great, which makes traveling even worse. What are the airports going to do now? Make you strip completely in public?

And I'm a cynic. Looks like Obama gave himself a great start to his campaign for next election. But for the record, all the politicians do this, Obama's no better or worse than anyone else.

To both Lemex and Trilby - it was the short story post for the weekly contest. It's still the lone entry... :( I hope someone writes something else...

    Awesome.

I'm just amusing myself by imagining myself in the 1800s volunteering for Napoleon's army. Then that got me to wonder: Not that it'd be historically accurate for a Yank to do it, but how did Napoleon veiw volunteers? How would he veiw me if I came over there and told him I'd fight for him? Would he not care or would he have an officer keep an eye on me in case I did something funny like try to desert the army when I came to regret my brave words? XD

I just love these "what if" questions of history. :D

Link, 'What if' questions regarding history are pretty fun.

Lydia, the former sounds fun, the latter does not. :p

Congratulations! I know from personal experience the longer a block goes on the more you throw yourself into a rut. However I've found that if you leave your current project behind and begin writing something new, doesn't matter what or it it makes sense or that it's perfect writing or what have you the block melts. Just write absolutely whatever comes to mind to 'get the ink flowing' again. Then you'll find yourself 'pumped and primed' for the next journey back into your main project.

Hope that helps anyone who hasn't thought of it as a way of getting through the block.
