Yeah, from what he told me, it was pretty funny. Then they were talking about all the clever names people have, and they were like "what's your wife's name??" "Honey Badger." "....oh." I guess people don't think my name is as cool as Cherry Potter or Janesaw Massacre.
So I have been playing GodVille quite a bit lately. The game is silly but I think it needs a little something extra. As such, I decided to start suggesting new content. Obscure stuff that requires lots of background to understand. Like today's entry for a new monster: No one will vote for this because it isn't a 4chan meme.
I'm assuming we're talking about Roller Derby names? Cherry Potter and Janesaw Massacre clearly aren't original. Honey Badger is. Honey Badger is cool.
Yeah, that's what I was talking about. Most derby names are a play off of something else (Seymore Butts is one of our travel team players...Sigourney Beaver is the newbie coach...my sister's name is Molly Whoremon, which cracks me up), so a lot of people who hear my name are seriously like "...what? How did you come up with that?" And I'm like dude, for real? It's the fiercest animal around. Honey Badger don't give a sh*t. Honestly, at first I was a little bit miffed that the people at Joel's job didn't dig it, but then I was like hey...the chick he works with pretended to be on a roller derby team to make herself feel like a badass. I am a badass. Clearly, I don't need to worry about what she thinks of me. I love my name. Glad you do too!
I've been watching Torchwood and I cry every time at Jack/Ianto moments. Why did he have to die? Torchwood is one of the rare TV shows that can make me cry. Anyway. How's everyone's weekend?
I must have a heart of stone, because I never cried during a TV show, even during Doctor Who with the "you should be crying now" music blaring from my speakers. If anything, it gets a "Must suck to be you right now..." from me. My weekend is doing great. Just marking down the list of videogames that will be released during the summer on my calender. =D
I very rarely cry at anything, but 10th Doctor/Rose and Jack/Ianto made me cry. (As well as Jack/Rose from Titanic. Shh, don't tell anyone. ) My weekend is pretty good, too. Memorial Day barbecue with my family tomorrow and clothes shopping last night, plus reading Gone with the Wind makes for a good weekend. And of course, the WF.
/n00b Internet moment... In other forums, I keep seeing this phrase: "Haters gonna hate". What does this mean?
Ah, makes sense. I was afraid this tavern was officially dead when no one replied in a day, so I had to revive it.
Good way to revive it. I always intend to post in response to things, but then I end up not doing it...
I'm the same way. But I assumed today was slow because of the extended weekend. At least it's extended here the States. I was playing video games all day... >.>'
Been super busy the last two weeks. My sister and I have finally found an apartment and tomorrow we're going to bring the check to the landlady to seal the deal.
Exciting! Congratulations! I think I might be sick...I felt a little weird all day, but I didn't really think anything of it. Then I was lying on the couch reading a little bit ago, and I started to feel really dizzy and nauseous. Boo.
That sucks. Being sick is a pain. I put my juicer up on TradeMe today (kiwi equivalent of ebay). Hope I'll be able to sell it. It's coming up to birthday season, and I'm close to being broke.
I might be met with negative remarks, but I want to share: Although I honestly don't mind what others think of people like me who have hearing/visual problems, I love it when I see someone make a quasi-offensive remark about it, quote it and make a huge issue about it. It's stupid, and is probably counterproductive if I wanted the hearing world to know that I won't flip if they so much as breath at me wrong, but it's fun to read the reaction to it. XD I know. There is no way I'm twenty-two. I have to be fifteen. If its of any comfort, I do put a small disclaimer right below the big huffy that I was only joking around.
If I'm gonna be sick, I hope it comes to pass during the summer. I don't want to be sick during the next semester.
Thanks! Yeah, we're super excited. And the kitchen is so cute with white and black checkered tiling. Sort of gives it a retro 50's look. Take it easy then, hope you feel better. lol! And the plus is that the apartment is next door to our library.
