Just ending another day. Spent most of it outside with people and am exhausted. Just remembered that I still have to make my bed. Meh, I'll just sleep in the guest room tonight and make it tomorrow.
I'm sitting in McDonald's to get wifi. The past three days of moving into the new apartment have gone as well as could be expected, but I hate life without internet. Phone I can do without for a couple of days, but man, I've realized that I put too much of my attention on the web (and you guys!). But tomorrow my twin is going to order a phone and internet package with verizon. We'll be stalking WF again probably in two day's time. YES!
Dude, that's seriously the worst part about moving, I think. Every time we've moved, I've tried to arrange things so that our power, internet, etc all got turned on before we actually moved in, but every single time, something gets effed up with the internet. Drives me insane! I'm glad the rest of your move went smoothly, though! I'm going skating tonight at 9...that'll be interesting, because I'm kind of an old lady. Hopefully I'll be able to stay up that late!
You're only about 3 years older than me, Hidden! Not old in the slightest (though my left knee would beg to differ in my case). Granted, I don't say that to the teenagers at WriSoc. Bloody whippersnappers. In one case, a damned pretty whippersnapper, but that isn't the point. The point is I'm old compared to all of them.
I've always hated moving. It's such a hectic experience and when you sleep the first night in a new house, especially if you haven't moved in fully yet, it doesn't feel like home.
Here I am. Approximately 2am Sunday morning, trying to tear myself away from the computer and get some sleep. Failing miserably so far. Anybody got a good lullaby?
I'm from Christchurch! Rangiora, actually. But I was in town for the 'quake. *shudders (no pun intended)* You getting shakes at the moment?
LOL! "You know you're from Christchurch when moving to Wellington to escape earthquakes makes sense." No quakes at the moment thankfully, or at least not ones I can notice.
Hahaha, classic, right? You're the only other South Islander I've seen on here, so I'm very pleased to meet you (I don't care that I'm living in Wellington right now, I'm definitely a Cantabrian!)
You're the first New Zealander I've ever seen on a forum I've joined, it's a nice feeling to finally have some company down here
Those three years make all the difference, Dante. Honestly, I think mentally I'm like eighty years old...all my friends make fun of me for being an old lady. But I did stay up to go skating--we skated back and forth for like an hour, just working on power stops. It was beautiful. I don't know any good lullabies, but I would steer clear of Lady Gaga's latest album if you're looking to sleep...I started listening to it last night before I went to bed, and it made me wide awake.
Just finished painting the damned fence. :< Must have tea now. Tension reliever tea. I am also considering writing a fantasy series about an alternate Earth where instead of us humans, it's elves. Maybe keep the same countries I had for my sci-fi (American kingdom, Heartland of the Scots, etc.) and implement a crap load of magic. Already I am creating the main characters.
Glad you're enjoying your day, Gi. It would be a lovely Saturday on my end, too, but my body hates me. :/
It's a good Saturday on my end to. I'm glad my back is doing well, considering I spent most of the painting bent over.
I bought myself a notebook and some colored pens for my ideas, and they're just pouring out of me today for a story/stories.
It's all good, I'm just being a big baby. I'm glad you guys are enjoying your days! I guess I kind of am, too, lying on the couch and typing up old stories. Their terribleness kind of makes me cringe...but it's entertaining.
