I'm drinking a Pepsi which is going to ruin my schedule up so bad. But I haven't had a soda in a while. So I wanted one.

I was playing in a poker tournament tonight and came 10th out of 50 people...was really close to the money positions but I lost patience and went all-in when I shouldn't have moved! :(

Friends of mine are getting married tomorrow, but four days ago the poor guy got a bike accident and landed with his face straight in the gravel... He got his entire face bandaged up, after having some stitches done, apparently. I'm amazed at his undying optimism (well, he is marrying a very sweet girl)

Aww no, that's terrible for the guy. It's good he can stay positive though. Hopefully the wedding goes well for them. :)

Starting a new mystery series. If I can do a blind detective, I can do a deaf one.

Amos Garnier- Blind detective of Colonial America.

Holly Grant- Deaf detective of Civil War America.

Sounds cool. Be careful though, I've tripped myself up trying to stretch myself too thin between novels.

I'm plowing through writing a really creepy scene that I'd struggled with a lot, because I wasn't able to get the tone scary enough. But it's coming much more naturally. I'm going to break the 20K mark tonight, only a few hundred more words left to go.

That sounds awesome, sign me up for a trip to Ecuador!

I have decided to avoid the summer heat by never, ever leaving my apartment. It's working out pretty well so far.

Yeah, its a pretty diverse place when it comes to climate zones, but in my little corner the temps usually do fluctuate like that during the day, most of the year, nights can be rather frigid...:)

Hidden must be enjoying some sort of central cooling deal, all I got is a fan blasting me in the face.

Those are places mostly along the coast or lowland areas, and also because it's the rainy season.

During the winter, I envy people who live in warmer climate, but when it's stifiling hot in 90+ degree F with high humidity, I find myself thinking, "I'd do anything to be in the New England states...or Canada...or Scotland...or gods, anywhere that doesn't feel like I'm roasting alive!!"

New England is suffering right now too, although we'll probably get relief sooner.

Well, the north of any country in the northern hemisphere gets spring later and autumn sooner than its southern section. Takes a fortnight here for spring to spread from Penzance to Aberdeen, and that's only 800 miles or so.

So what I think I'm trying to say (in a 2am really should go to bed sort of way) is that it's understandable that Link's jealous now, but will that be the case when the seasons close in?

Exactly. When it finally starts freezing and I have to wear jeans and a sweater, I'll be thinking, "I'd do anything for it to be 90 degrees (f) right now..."

Temperature and me? We do not get along.
