Nothing like modesty, eh, lad? :p

Had I been pulled over I'd probably have had to shut up at least one of those I was giving a lift because he'd be determined to be a smartarse.

^ Lol, once a car I was in got pulled over because the driver (not me) was going like 60 in a 50 zone (the cops around here are a bit, um, "meticulous" when it comes to enforcing their rules) and she said, in a panic, " OFFICER, I'M NOT A SPEEDSTER!"

The jokes continue to this day.

I was driving with one of my friends, and he was driving 30 in a 15 zone once in a park. We got pulled over, which was weird considering cops are never at that park. Not saying he didn't deserve it, though. ;)

Cops are never at a park, when they should be. Cops are ALWAYS at a park after hours. I have been busted more times for stupid things at public parks after 10 o'clock than any other place.

  5. Best thing I've ever been pulled over for? In NY if you're under 18 you can't drive after 10 pm (I think, back then) and I was on my way home from dropping friends off after a night out at the bar (no drinking for me, I had a kid to go home to so I was the driver) and I was pulled over because the cop thought I was too young to be driving at 2:30 am! I was 24!

If I ever get pulled over, it'll be because they'd think I was too young to be driving. Long hair, I look 17. Short hair, I look 15.

Not bad Linky. Not bad at all. XD

This thread seems to have been quiet after that whole being-pulled-over conversation.

Hey, um, just a quick question: How many words does a YA novel require? :]

^ if the last two I read are to be taken as face, then as many words as can be read in 4 hours.

I don't think there is a specific length req for YA... I hate to say it but look at twilight... supposedly YA and each one of the novels in the series is a different length. Just write your story Link. Don't worry about word count right now. I know that is a hard thing to do but I wanna see you finish a full story.

    Well: let's do the math.

I read The Shadow Over Innsmouth in about that time, so ... *indistinct mumbling* ... 25,000 to 30,000?

I did try to put the entire story into a Word document to find out the actual number and now my word has crashed as I was working on something. I had only added 40 words to my manuscript though, so it's nothind I can't handle.

It does tell me my laptop is a useless pile of arse though.

I got a grade C in it, and aside from day-to-day stuff - yeah - I'm glad I'll never have to do anything like trigonometry or algebra again. My brain just isn't wired to find the value of X on a triangle.
