I want some pizza! I'm kind of hungry, but I don't think we really have anything to eat here. I guess I could make a sandwich...but I had a sandwich for lunch...

 

^Oh, yes, the dilemma over dinner...Take-out perhaps?? Chinese food? Haven't had some in a long, long time...

 

I'd love to make some food for the family. However, one person has decided to be rude. She makes a special request of what she wants me to make for the family. I ask for some assistance, which means clean the pan while I prepare the vegetables. They won't clean the pan. So I won't make dinner. As simple as that.

 

Had a pretty awesome day today. Went up to Green Bay and to Lambeau. God, that stadium is gorgeous.

Watching the riots, can't even be called the London riots any more. It's scary.

Selfishness...Good or Bad?

We have all heard that infamous phrase: "greed is good". Most of us forumers live in countries where money takes the role of the preeminent, all-encompassing goal of society and its inhabitants. Have we allowed the role of "money" to go too far in determining the activities of everyday life? Also, is this cult of the self, the me-first mentality, ultimately a healthy behavior, considering the long term future, and considering what a "society" is supposed to mean for the people living in it in the first place?

 

I feel really out of the loop. I didn't know about the riots 'til I got on here... >.>'

@ Old Dominion- I read a BBC news somewhere that Londeners are beginning to clean up the city. I hope it means this madness is finally dying down...

 

That's good to hear. Hope people have finally started to settle down.

 

I have a job interview tomorrow that I'm really depending on, so I'm a bit nervous....yikes!
