Gigi, how can you hate pancakes?? Haha, I hate soy milk ("Silk") and tofu. I'm not allergic to soy, because I eat soy sauce with rice and stuff all the time...but I do experience mild allergic reactions to soy milk (itchy mouth, etc), and tofu just leaves this nasty plastickey aftertaste. Pancakes are the shiz, though. Sock monkeys are pretty awesome.
I don't really care about sock monkeys, but I love both baking (I know tricks and that) and eating pancakes, also pancakes made with soy milk. Oh, let's not forget... Woooo, waffles!
Belgian waffles are my favorite. My library has exactly one book on planning a bridal shower, and it was published in the 80s. I laughed pretty hard when I was skimming over the list of suggested game prizes and one of them was "a cassette."
Lordy, I hardly remember cassettes. Still, I remember growing up in the '90s and I played with an old tape recorder that had those cassettes.
I remember VHS too. All those sounds too, and the sound of TV snow. Who remembers the fuss of static?
I watched the static for hours...very interesting. I think I still have a VCR and a cassette player somewhere around here.. I even have a Sergeant Pepper Vinyl for some reason, haha.
Okay, now you lot are making me feel old and I was born in the tail end of all that! VHS...ah...I loved it and hated it. Loved it in that you could stop it, turn it off and when you come back, you can pick up where you left off. Now with DVDs, you can't do that. You have to find that scene in the scene selector and rewatch it just to get to that part you left off. I hated it because you'd have to rewind it all the way, which can be a pain.
The 1990s was an epic decade. The 1980s? Weird. 1970s? Kinda weird and not fun. 1960s? Same. 1950s? Oh yeah! 1940s? NOT FUN!!
I used to have a combination DVD/VHS player, but I left it at my parents house when I moved out, so now I can't watch any of my VHS movies.
The 70s gave us Black Sabbath and Peter Gabriel era Genesis. And it brought us Supertramp. Talk about overcompensation for a little bit of boredom.
True, true. I guess it depends. I was born in 1989, so I can't vouch as to what was happening in the '80s. It's funny. I was born in 1989, in the '80s, yet I consider myself a '90s kid.
It's understandable. You didn't really know the 80s. And why would you want too? I mean the 80s had Twisted Sister for god's sake.
