I once had to clean out a house that was filled to the (literally, mind you) ceiling with trash and newspaper dating back to the 1950s!

    Yah, I know your pain.

OK, my room isn't that bad, even if I did find all kinds of stuff for Freshers Week 2007! It is at least dust-free now. I've pulled out my bed and vacuumed all the nooks and crannies of the room that I could get to, and at least one surface is now something resembling tidy (now merely stacked with back issues of Black Static and Interzone, rather than phone bills, bank statements and angry missives from the Student Loans Company). I think I'll have to buy myself a dirty linen basket before I go much further, just so the pile of washing at the foot of my bed has a place to live/ferment, and I need to buy myself a new bookcase just so I can tidy away a load of DVDs and CDs from shelves where they don't live.

But tomorrow's job has to be to get this desk sorted. More once-important documents live to one side of the iMac than is reasonable, coins seem to multiply every time I move something, and I've lost two pen drives in the drawers (which still contain a Game Boy Advance that hasn't been seen since 2008 and a PSOne that probably still works - oh, and I've just found a copy of Championship Manager 2000/01).

I've just logged down the latest jobs I've applied for. That's 300 job applications now. Two hours every bloody day spent at the computer tracking down vacancies, or heading into town to hand out CVs. I'm sick of it. Someone just give me a job.

    In Greek/Roman history now.

It's...bracing. 8[ So much information and it doesn't help that the teacher is side-switching happy, so I have to type in the speed of knots to get everything down.

    Good thing I type quickly...

So it's a class that was taught without the focus it should have had? Ouch. I had those with property law in first year. Though part of it may have been me not paying attention much (I mean, come on, it's property law, the dullest subject in history).

Greek/Roman history is intersting, but...this teacher?

Yah... 8[ She makes an already complicated subject even more complicated.

This is probably one of those holidays where I'm not exactly sure if everyone celebrates Thanksgiving or it's just us Americans. xD

Still...American or not, have a wonderful time doing the things you do. If you are with family, cherish them and tell them how special they are.

    <posting 5 hours late... :p>

I'm doing well. Got home from Thanksgiving, played some Skyrim and am now thinking about working on a story.

I've successfully completed my first day in my new job. It's an unpaid, non-contractual post, admittedly, with more flexibility in terms of working hours than most people, but I have my duties, an office (all to myself!), a boss who keeps sending me work and a system logon that doesn't work.

    Oh yeah.

I think I may have to join the BFS. For some reason, the recent controversy makes me want to even more.

With the British Fertility Society? I'm not sure, but I'm tempted to write some sort of baby-stealing story :p

There was a whole load of controversy surrounding the British Fantasy Society Awards this year (best novel award went to the partner of the guy in charge, I think). Cue lots of criticism, and wholescale reforms (over which there is more argument). They're voting on a new constitution next month, I think.

I can't believe the British Fantasy Society Awards has a constitution.

Pretty much everything has a written constitution these days. They're pretty vital documents.
