Felt like yesterday it was December 31st, 2010.

I look forward to 2012, but there's one inescapable fact that sooner or later, conspiracy nutters will be picketing the streets with signs that says, "The Aztec End of Times is Nigh" and crap like that.

Yay, I'm looking forward to having THAT bashed around my head in the latter months of 2012.

And thus does my systematic upgrade of both of my computers begin. I've installed the new version of Office on the iMac, with 4GB of new RAM on its way during the week. I'm pricing up the same amount of RAM for the MacBook while Office is installing on the same. And given a week, I'll have Lion on both, having not got it before it had its bug fixed.

Really, I need to strip down and completely start again with both. But these upgrades should breathe new life into them as it is. It should be another year or two before I have to think about splashing out on replacements.

I have learned a new lesson, today! Always proofread your posts before hitting the 'reply' button!

'Cos thanks to my inept ability to proofread my post in my recent thread, I've managed to say that Alexander isn't a Greek name...when it is and I damn well know who he was. <grumblegrumblegrumble>

Yeah it's going to be a joyride, but once next December comes around they won't say anything once the day comes and nothing happens.

Well, the heat has finally hit us in Melbourne, Aus. Already a month through summer and we've finally hit a 40 deg. C day (about 104 deg. F for you Americans, I believe). Problem is, my house has crappy insulation. Right now, it's 9.24pm and it's about 32 deg outside and 32 inside. No air con either, just fans to push the hot air around. Kinda sucks.

^ Sorry 'bout that. Still winter here at about 68 degrees (f), which is 20 (c) for you guys, if I'm not mistakened.

We down here have until May before the heat racks up and we, once again, endure 40 (c) heat.

First day back at work, and I've just written a brief article poking fun at the US Republican candidates.

How, precisely, is this different to my being on holiday?

Just trying to start a conversation and be friendly, my plans are to write today after I have finished the oh so many chores of the normal housewife/mother. My novel has been on hold since Christmas and I haven't really had the opportunity to sit down and 'peacefully' write. =\
But i didn't realize how uptight people are here. - sorry

^Please tell me, Banzai, that it was poking fun at the Tea Party movement.

Banzai, is your article just a straight no-spin-at-all listing of their proposed policies and qualifications? That is all the fun that ever needs poking...

All I'll say is google Political Scrapbook. The article was earlier today, and concerns the amounts of money each candidate spent in Iowa, compared to the number of votes they received.

Also, there was a "guide to the candidates" article by the editor yesterday which is worth a read :p

Hey there. Well, I was having an all right day until I checked my facebook. Got a message from my ex, the one I was in love with and wanted to marry until he dumped me out of the clear blue last year. Never knew why it ended. Had to leave the apartment and our cat. Had nowhere to go for a while, had to couch hop and sleep in my car if I had nowhere to go. Lost my job because I had a nervous breakdown about the whole thing.

I started a new life in Ohio and have been doing all right. Back in school and all.

Apparently his new years resolution was to confess to me that he'd been cheating on me. Just found out today. Now it hurts again. And I'm scared he could have given me an STD or something so I have to get tested.

I'm sitting here just shaking right now. Can't even concentrate on writing. Don't even know who to talk to.

:( That is a heavy post.

My PM box is open, and I'll be in and out all evening, if you need to talk to a stranger.

It just took me hours to edit two chapters and add some stuff in to the beginning of my novel. That's just the first edit, and I'm certain it isn't much better. Just another 90k-or-so to get through. FML.

I foolishly agreed to do the same for a mate. 130,000 words. I'm through 3,000. It ain't going to get finished before I start work on Monday!

Woah, you're editing someone's work for them? How come? Good luck for Monday though, hope it all goes well. :)

Ugh, working through a novel you were proud of only to see just how crap it is is definitely NOT the one.

OH HEY. I know Ashleigh! Excuse me while I cling to you for dear support since I vanished and no one probably has a clue who the heck I am.

    Hey Lilix. I remember you!

My best friend was chilling at my apartment but she just left. I'm alternating between stuff for my novel, and stuff for work.

    Hi there Mallory!

That's two familiar names! I like this.

I just went through and submitted a few more emails to book bloggers requesting reviews. So far, it's looking good.

I've been there, just persist. It'll be way better than you think it is. And I was fool enough to volunteer to read a bit, thinking he was going to send me a sample. Nope - whole novel in one document. With a short story on the side! Well, it's kept me busy. And thanks - I hope it goes well, too! How's the placement at the publisher going for you?

Lilix, I vaguely remember you from days of yore/2010. How're you doing?
