i was going to watch the second Hobbit film, but now that i think that Thorin is actually an a**hole (well given what he ends up doing, its understandable) ive kinda lost interest, especially as it has now appeared on Netflix. :/
Just out of curiosity, is there a place to put short scenes/skits for critique? Say I wanted to practice writing a fight scene and wanted opinions on it, where would it be best in? Short Stories?
Hey folks, just passin' through. I've had a message inside me that I had chosen to practically ignore, but I've finally started listening. Just thought I'd drop it here. Maybe it will help someone else on their way: We cannot BE love until the needs, fears, and dreams of others are as valuable to us as our own. Does the house cat not need food because you don't want to get up, or the man on the street because his clothes are dirty? Does the loss of a natural habitat not matter because you don't have time to recycle, or your children's desires for love, acceptance and guidance because you are busy providing another kind of food? Love undoes the violences we commit in our hearts through ignorance and unconcern by introducing us to empathy and compassion. Then we become truly sentient--sensitive, conscious, aware. I also read a nice article about Pope Francis. It is his ten tips to living happier. Some might appreciate it, and none of it has anything to do with being religious. Here it is: http://www.naturalnews.com/046684_P...l&utm_source=facebook.com&utm_campaign=buffer Hope all is well with each of you!
Sometimes when I start whistling The Andy Griffith Show I'll automatically slip into The Flintsones. Then, I can't get remember how the Mayberry tune goes and I'm stuck in Bedrock.
Don't slip into "Off to See the Wizard" because you might get stuck in Oz, and no one ever wants to get stuck in Oz.
Which of Thorin's actions renders him an orifice of evacuation so foul as turn you from the second film?
Spoiler: Spoiler to Book/Film how he said he'd never turn into his grandfather, to then later do exactly that, (i read the book earlier this year) alongside falling out with Bilbo... dont get me wrong in the first film i thought he was an awesome character (and i wouldnt have my Dwarf character in the Master Swordsman Chronicles if it werent for him in the first film). i honestly thought he was going to be a good guy until the end (ok i know he apologises to Bilbo, but still, it makes me kinda annoyed that a character i actually rooted for/liked took a turn like that)
The theme of good intentions, falling into temptation, and eventual redemption is a time honored one. It does, however, require the reader, or viewer, to stay with the story until the end.
It's a theme that carries through many of the characters in Tolkein's world. Frodo sending Sam away, Bilbo's reaction to having to leave the ring, and then upon seeing it in Rivendell, Aragorn sending Arwen away, and Boromir's attempt to get the ring from Frodo just to name a few. Those may be lesser examples compared to Thorin, but they all fall in the same catagory. Don't give up on the little Dwarf yet
That's cool. I had to wait until the Ironman-gasm had settled down and no one was really talking about it anymore before I could rent and watch those films. Today is mow the lawn day. Mow the lawn day is followed wicked allergy evening.
The guy in it is a football player that was on my favorite team. His dance was his touchdown celebration every time he scored. It was a big thing back in the day. Now there is a commercial for it used by Geico.
What a party that would that would be! Yacht Rock, Z Cavaricci's, insouciantly feathered hair, gallons of Aquanet... and some C-4.
