Also in the real world? On the internet, no one can do anything right. There will always be someone criticizing you and telling you to shut up and listen to their gospel truth. That crap -- not worth the migraine.
No, PRIMARILY in the real world. Case in point. Internet: Dr Matt Taylor had no business wearing that shirt. It was in appropriate. Real world: 123, you can't wear that shirt. It has holes in it!
That's actually your name?! ... Maybe there's a way you can find some less-critical people to spend time with, though. The haters are indeed tiring.
Maybe his real name just sounds like 123 . Like, his name is really Wan Dootree. Uan Tootri. Wuh N'Totree. Something like that.
I'm trying to translate/proofread training material translated by some translation agency of starving overworked students. I can't help but feel my native tongue has been trolling the hell out of the people who were hired to do the original translation. The congruence between the words is shaky at best because of the highly conjugative nature of Finnish. I think this pretty much sums it up. Sigh.
@KaTrian That is completely mental... how on earth do you have space in your noggin to remember English and French as well?
It does put things in perspective with French! You go phew at the relatively small number of suffixes . Tbh, I can't form all the rarest words off the top of my head either, although I can usually tell what they mean. I also stumble in speech sometimes when trying to find the correct ending. It gets frustrating when you're tired, which is what probably happened to the original translators.
Hi everyone, passing by once again! Man, coming here makes me miss the good old days with long and absolutely nonsensical talks here in the tavern... we should have a WF reunion with the "oldies" (ok, is it obvious that I feel like I'm about 80 years old?). Ahum. Anyway, hope everyone is doing well.
A WF reunion with older members would be awesome. I know there has been idle talk in the past of a WF meet up.
It would be so cool! Unfortunately not so many of the older members are still active here, though I do have some on my fb contact list. One I haven't heard of in ages, though, is Rumpole. Really miss that dude. Wow, a museum sounds cool! What kind of museum is it? I'm a few months away from graduation, and then I'm officially a teacher! Quite scary.
Yeah, it's not quite how it used to be. Come back people! Ooh, so what do you teach? I'll be a primary school teacher, so no fancy intelligent skills, just lots of patience.
I know! Come back! I trained teaching A-level English literature, but since then I've been privately teaching just GCSE English, it's no where near as specialized. I loved teaching A-level, a lot of the time it was like talking to new, younger friends.
I think English literature would be interesting to study, who knows, if nobody will hire me, I might just become a student again after I'm graduated. Yeah, there's a reason why I'll be teaching kids and not teens or adults, I'm really not that impressive, I think they just wouldn't listen to me, haha.
I remember him, I think. I don't know where he went off. The museum I'm working in is a history museum. All sorts of cool stuff here. And congrats on teaching, Lydia!
Never say that, you always seem smart enough to teach literature! But yeah, being a big kid and going back to university a third time has been good.
Whoa, officially jealous now! I love history, and I love museums. That's one thing I'd really like to do, too. Haha, thanks, but the students would probably think I was younger than them. I still get mistaken for being 16 years old...
