You've never picked oranges straight from a tree and then juiced them? Can I tempt you?

No. Our garden had several apple trees though. One of them had a droopy branch, so we tied a wooden pole up to support it. A year passed, and the pole ended up being hoisted an inch off the ground. Never underestimate our arboreal cousins.

I would very much enjoy to pluck a fresh orange. I ought to have done so as I explored Spain. Pity.

Next time you to go to Spain, do try it. The vitamin C is great for chasing away the winter blues (S.A.D)

Wine is my tipple. Onwards and back to writing an entry for the poetry competition. Any one else write poetry?

Well how irritating. iPad is jumping around like a bed bug on speed. Posted in completely the wrong thread just now. Back to PC it seems.

I can't do anything substantial on any kind of tablet, honestly.

Just bought an iPad Air and can't figure out how to use it. Bed bugs of any description jumping at any pace would be good. the only thing that is jumping round at speed at the moment is me wishing I'd bought a small laptop and not an ipad. Is an ipad the same as a tablet?

An iPad is the original tablet, really. Not recommended for anything other than light browsing. Typing is difficult (no, autocorrect, I meant ILL, not I'LL), internet is unreliable and crashes often (though that is probably more to do with the Chrome app being dodgy) and you don't get certain extensions like Adobe Flash or adblock for Youtube, so half the stuff you want to load doesn't, and all the stuff you don't want to load does. I primarily use mine for games - the only reason I bought it was because I was travelling in Europe and my mammy wanted to keep in contact with me while I was out and about. Skype works well on it.

I also bought mine for travelling. I thought I was going to be able to still write poems and short stories and keep my 'ideas' journal uptodate - it appears I've spent £500 quid on a chocolate teapot. *growl*. I also can't use it for work which is going to cause a problem. I work for an expat website and on SM.

Well, it's not impossible. I have done a bit of writing on my iPad when out and about using the notes feature, and then I e-mail it to myself so I can edit it on PC later.

Am I just lucky? My iPad works just fine, the keyboarding is decent (it doesn't even't auto-correct ILL.) I surf the internet here lots of time, but I do my writing on my main laptop due to it having Microsoft Word and the ability to save my stuff on three physical thumbdrives. As much as I like Dropbox, I feel better knowing I can physically get to my things if all goes to Hell. If Dropbox goes to Hell? Bye-bye everything I saved on it.

One thing I've learned this week: the mayor of Baltimore isn't all that bright, but she is smokin' hot.

That still isn't a good enough reason to move to Baltimore. :p

one thing ive noticed with my job is that in the past few weeks I always end up scraping my hands somewhat, did it again a couple of nights ago, and need to put a plaster on it so not to do too much more damage (and possibly put blood on clothes)

One thing I've noticed about theory driven investigations into media ethics is that there's a remarkable lack of said ethics in said media.

Happy May Day everyone! Just wanted to get that in there first.:D

So who'll be dressing all in white, wearing bells and smacking others with sticks? (And not in a Clockwork Orange manner hopefully)

Not me. For me to dress all in white, I'd be in nothing but my tighty-whiteys and socks. I literally do not own any other white clothing.

As a Scotsman, I just have to strip off completely and I'm naturally white.

Plus, I already have bells and a stick.:supercheeky:

Please don't go waving those around and hitting people with them.

Unless we ask politely of course.

Bells and whistles for may day sounds like a plan. All the flipping shops are shut tomorrow and I forgot to go shopping ;(

Why are the shops closed tomorrow?
