Aparently in a recent survey of the top Canadian cities to live in, Kingston came out number 2 and Toronto, where I grew up, was not even in the top 25. Then again, they did take into account things like crime rate, income, and cost of living. While Toronto isn't the worst in those categories, it's expensive to live there, there are a lot of low-income families, crime is fairly high, and rent is stupidly high. It's pretty much impossible to find a place for less than 900 a month, and those places are usually not very good. In Kingston you can find some pretty nice places for only 600.
I should find a survey like that for Arizona. Or the entire US. Either way, I'm sure where I grew up wouldn't even make it on the list.
It would be pretty hard to make a list like that in the US because I'm pretty sure there are a lot more cities in the US than in Canada. Things are very spread out in the terretories.
I read one a few years back. Iowa used to be number two, just below Minnesota. Not sure what it is now.
Surveys don't find the best. They find the most popular. It also depends on who you are asking. Recently I saw a survey of the Most Hated Baseball Team. Some people were surprised that the Boston Red Sox were near the top of the list, well above the New York Yankees. It's less surprising when you think of the rivalry between the Sox and the Yankees. Who are most of the Yankees haters? Bostonians, Who are most of the Red Sox haters? New Yorkers. Now compare the populations of the two cities.
^True, Dave. I found a survey, not sure what it's based on, but Iowa was 6th, and Arizona was 36th. Go us! And I didn't even grow up in a good part of Arizona...
No, they weren't actually asking people. They were looking at house-hold income, unemployment rates, cost-of-living, crime rates, availablity of healthcare, education, and quality of the weather. Having been in one of the worst cities in the country for smog, I can tell you that this city is incredibly clean. There is a top university, a darn good college, and about 8% of the population is in some kind of medical profession.
I may be going to see the doctor tomorrow for my ear... besides the deafness, it's starting to hurt now too. I don't like doctors. But hey, he might be able to help!
Joel had issues with his ear a few months back, and he went to the doctor for it. They cleaned his ears out, and it was really gross, but he could hear afterwards. Maybe your ears are just really, really dirty, Soul Sister.
You're probably safe, then. I clean my ears frequently, and I always try to get Joel to, but he won't. It showed, too, when the doctor finished cleaning out his ears...it was pretty gross. Ahhhh, changing my name with my credit card companies is annoying!
Haha, yeah, I know how guys can be. And ouch, it certainly doesn't sound like fun. Then again, ouch for me too since I busy studying economics. *cries*
Alright, I changed my name with my car insurance, and then my insurance rate lowered. This is because now my status is married instead of single, you might think...but it was already set at married, just our last names were still different. Weird. I'm not complaining, mind you...saving money is cool. It's just odd.
You should point out to them that you have been married for a while now, and therefore your insurance premium reduction should be retroactive
After you pointed that out, I actually looked at the pricing changes that I printed out, and it does say that the adjustments to my past bills would be reflected on my next statement, so it looks like they reduced this month's payment to make up for it. Yay, lower car insurance! Glad to hear it!
Haha... I had to call my brother to ask him something, and then he said: "So who are you actually? I mean, I can hear you're one of my sisters but I don't know which one." *facepalm* So I said: "I'm your most annoying sister." He: "Lydia?"
lol I can't remember my older sister and I doing something like that, but I'm sure I annoyed her a bunch when we were growing up. XD
Haha there are similar goings-on in my family except it's usually my Mum. I'll phone her up and usually just say "Hi Mum" and she says "Which one is that?" I like the little pause while she figures out which daughter it is
My grandma does that when she calls my parents' house. I've actually always been a little surprised that when I call my parents or siblings, they always, always know that it's me. Do any of you go up behind someone, cover their eyes, and say "guess who?" Well, I do that, but I have one of my other siblings stand right next to me and they say it...they still always know that it's me. But maybe that's because I'm the only one who ever does that...
