I have been writing for years, and never found a good community to gather inspiration and share things with. I have found one actually, other than here, but I tend to sporadically disappear to due it not having very many members. I've hopped around from site to site trying to find my place. I've been on everything from Wattpad, to way too many tumblr links of writing sites. I've never quite found a home, not even on the Nano forums. This is where I hope the site comes in. You look friendly, engaging, and inspirational. I've only creeped for a couple hours, and feel like I already belong here. I feel as though this is a place I can learn to better my writing, and go to when I feel as though I cannot even fathom an idea. I've been writing for so long that I let myself give up on it for many periods of my life. I didn't write for six month spans, and haven't written on a novel in about that long. At this point, I'm focused on my poetry, and character development (I am currently using Runaway Tales on Livejournal for this). I absolutely adore slam poetry, and hope and pray one day that I will perform my poetry in that manner someday. I'd prefer to not currently state my name, and so just call me teenwithapen, or teen or whatnot. I hope that's okay. Aside from writing, I love to read, and pursue some drawing and painting. My loves in life currently are my dogs, my siblings, and I'm leaning towards falling for my boyfriend of five months. My passions are psychology, education, and languages, especially Spanish. However, I am not a native Spanish speaker, and thus I am having to put a lot of effort into learning it. But hey, I feel as though everyone should learn more than one language. I also believe that if native English speakers want non-native English speakers to speak English, we should also make effort to learn their language. Eventually, I want to learn French, Italian and ASL. I also love horses, and cats. I love Criminal Minds, and Law and Order: SVU. I watch Mulan at 3 AM and we spend our dates walking through parks, or binge watching Netflix together. I cry at every sad part in a movie or TV show, and am emotionally invested in the characters of the Percy Jackson books. There we go, now ya'll know plenty about me.

Knowing one or two other languages than your mother-tongue can be of tremendous help, I think. I know it's helped me to expand my vocabulary and internalize grammar rules, somehow.
