Well I made sure not to do a old boring hello in my title. Give it some color y'know so we don't go with the usual thought in our head of "Oh the word 'hello' in the title how original!" But with that to the side hi, I'm Bearycool. My real name is Josef Edwards. (putting that here cause I usually put my name at the bottom of my writing.) I'm a musician and writer which may I say work hand in hand with each other. With writing I'm not doing a bunch of random letters in my lyrics. For some reason these two don't fit well with my age group, I'm 15 by the way. They say that writing is so hard and reading music is harder. Well it is in a way but I say that giving some effort into it, and putting a little bit of imaginational/pixie dust and I would say have to say you would have a great time with the two. I have a easy time with the two but of course I have errors that I need to fix, and I still listen to the teacher. But I digress.... anyway I'm 15 years old, a dude, and I have a pretty wild imagination. I'm not one of those teens that uses the word like 15 times in a sentences, I mean like that's so like bad like grammar hmmmhmmhmh like omg did you hear that girl like she like hot like like like..... Again I digress but that's pretty much me... The word digress should become my wife and bear my children since we work perfectly with each other. Anyway I would have to say writing 20 page stories is a past time every now and then for me, even though I forget to do paragraphs while doing that. I sometimes just write small things that can be sometimes smaller than the poetry form of Haiku. I usually want to talk but of course it's hard for me to start a conversation. tl;dr version: Hello I'm Bearycool please send me free presents.
Hello Josef, Welcome to the Writing Forums. Please read How to Use the Review Room before you post there. Posting your own writing for people to comment on should not be among the very first things you do here. It is worth taking the time to see what other people have done to improve their writing, and see if some of it applies to your writing as well. That is part of why we require members to review other members' work before posting their own for review. On the other hand, there are no restrictions, other than content and copyright rules, on showcasing your work in your member blog. Also, be aware that posting a piece of writing on any public site, including this one, will greatly diminish your chances of selling it for publication. Removing the writing later does not alter that fact - once posted, it is irreversibly considered published. So do not post anything more than a small excerpt of any piece you are planning to submit for publication. If you haven't explored the site yet, you should probably do so soon. Newcomers often gravitate to the Lounge, the Word Games, or the Review Room, but there is much more to be discovered if you poke in the corners. Remember to check out our FAQ as well, and be sure to read through the forum rules, too, to avoid any misunderstandings or hurt feelings. Respect for one another is our principal mandate. As for the Review Room, new joiners often wonder why we do things a bit differently on this site than on other writing sites. We emphasize constructive critique as a vital writing skill. Training your eye by reviewing other people's work helps you improve your own writing even before you present it for others to see. Therefore, we ask members to review other people's writing before posting work of their own. The Review Room forums on this site, therefore, are true workshops, not just a bulletin board for displaying your work (and on that note, please only post each item for review in one Review Room forum). Also, please use the same thread for all revisions and additional excerpts from the same piece of writing. See this post, Why Write Reviews Before Posting My Work? for more information. And while you're looking around, don't forget to check out the RPG forum for improvisational fiction. Also try our Weekly Short Story Contest and Weekly Poetry Contest. They actually run more than one week apiece, but any member may enter, and all members are urged to vote for their favorites. Enjoy your stay here, and have fun!
Hey thar. I don't know if to wince or applaud your name, but have a cookie. I tend to use "like" a fair bit when I'm stuck and trying to think... Nervous tic, I think.
Yeah but I'm referring to teens who use it because they think it sounds cool. Nervous tics don't count since I kind of have a little bit of the same thing.
