Ohhh I haven`t had a McFlurry in a long time now I`m craving one. Gonna have to find me near a McDonalds sometime soon. I believe the shitty machine to be universal. It`s become quite the meme online.
Usually has to do with the machine either being cleaned or just having been cleaned because people generally don't get paid the time it takes to do it after the lights are out. Also, some of the people there are kinda not great at problem solving, so even when it's legitimately "broken" it's often because of something like someone forgot to replace or lost a gasket,or accidentally tripped the GFCI and doesn't understand that's a thing.
Been so damn busy as of late that recent dinners were in the instant ramen area of life. Not too bad taste wise, but three or four days of the stuff and trash from a fast food joint starts looking good. So, I'm finally getting a homemade meal tonight: Chicken pot pie. Baby-bake-factory is making it, so it should turn out good. Better than ramen. Please no more ramen, amigo.
Tourtiere. Not true French-Canadian style, because I'm using beef and mushrooms instead of pork and veal, but it's spiced similarly and I was having a hankering. Spoiler: For size
Dap, is that the French Canadian pork pie people eat at Christmas time? If so...OMG I love French pork pie.
Possible! I've never really done Christmas, though, but they used to feature pretty prominently at pot-lucks when I was a kid.
Nothing if we don`t do some dishes/go grocery shopping tonight. Trying to figure out what to actually get/make. Have a craving for tuna noodle casserole might do that. Got tax refund today, very small amount of money coming in Friday, and food bank Thursday should be stocked up by the end of the week. Only my breakfast had to suffer.
Tonight, because I'm in the mood for it, will be Gyro night. Just finished ordering from my favorite Turkish spot since they make the best lamb Gyros around here. Edit - This meal nearly killed me. Fuckin ell guv'nor.
Tomorrow will be Stouffer's frozen lasagna and french bread. I need something easy and quick since I've got basketball to watch. Go Green!
A rainbow trout fillet (frozen), pasta, and some broccoli my parents left in the fridge when they buggered off for the weekend.
This comes after dinner at Curry in a Hurry - Cheesecake! Life is better with cheesecake. This one will have mixed nuts and breadcrumbs sitting atop a strawberry glaze.
I made this: ... and it tastes like hell. It's one of my favourite foods in general, but when cooked in a hurry, it just doesn't work. I'm already feeling guilty, but I think that I should probably throw it away. Not even feta cheese could save it.
I'll send you something deep fried with rice and sauce. The fried food will add to the guilt, but at least it'll taste good. Also, cheesecake. Eat cheesecake. You cannot (not) smile while eating cheesecake.
Which reminds me that I need to decide on what type of cake I'm doing for Hope's birthday in May. I wanna make it look like a drum, but that means dealing with fondant icing ie. rolling and sticking. Never done that part before, so I wanna practice beforehand.
That sounds like a fun thing to try. My gf has a birthday tomorrow. German chocolate is her favorite but she has a gluten sensitivity, thus the flourless.
I'm thinking that I will use a couple of these wafer curls to make the base for the drumsticks, then wrap them in icing. The whole thing will be a challenge. My mum is the one with cake decorating skills. She can do flowers, ivy and all sorts. I just like baking, but I've never decorated like this before.
Kinda trying to make yellow split pea soup with a cut up porkchop for added flavor and to add something else besides onion. Smells pretty good, while it simmers away on the stove.
What's a yellow split pea? Nevermind. Don't tell. I want a photo. This sounds like some serious cooking is taking place.
Carrots, celery, and thyme are traditional up here, as well as stirring in a dollop of butter just before taking it off the stove.
