If I can muster the energy, it will be chicken wraps. But as that is looking unlikely, it will be between cereal, soup or fish.
I'm pleased to report that I did manage to make chicken wraps. Then being me, I had to have a second and make myself overfull.
I wanted Taco Bell tonight, but I let go of cheese, so I decided to recreate my favorite thing (five layer burrito, beans instead of beef, extra nacho cheese) and I did it and it was marvelous! My stepmom's blender made some scary sounds, so the "cheese" sauce isn't as smooth as it could be, but! it was actually fairly accurate. There's an entire 4 oz can of diced jalapenos in it and it's the same level of spice I think Taco Bell's nacho cheese has. Success.
Nope. We don't have a "maid" - we employ a maid service who shows up for about an hour a week to keep the damn house livable, because we are two bachelor slobs and if we didn't have someone come in to rein in our foulness, we would have to move every month or so. And don't ask us to clean our own place; we've tried that and we just don't do it. I mean, we probably can, but if we have an excuse not to clean (the TV was on, maybe, or it was a day that ended in "y", or cleaning would cut into our breathing time) we don't do it. At any given moment, there's always something more important. It's like Zeno's paradox: we get closer and closer to cleaning but we just never actually get there. And we don't employ anybody to cook. I do that. Or we go grab something from some take-out place. Or we take up farming, grow a crop of wheat, thresh it and mill it into flour, mix it with something wet, bake it into bread, which then goes stale, so we tear it up and plant it, hoping to raise a crop of bread, which doesn't happen, so we sneak onto neighboring ranches and assail cows with spitballs in hopes that somehow they'll turn into steak, which also doesn't happen, so we get hungry and munch on stewed cardboard while looking at online food porn. Farmers have it tough. We got a copy of Farming for Dummies but we didn't understand it, so we ate it. It wasn't bad, so we're thinking of getting another copy and eating it, too. It's just our way of sticking it to the Man.
Cauliflower cheese. Absolutely nailed it for once with just the right amount of cheesiness and crunch!
They're an industrious people when given proper guidance by a wh... <rips cursed pith helmet off, throws it to the ground, staring in shock> "Where the hell did that come from !?!?"
Hot pulled pork sandwich...from a can don`t get too excitied there. Then a prepackaged cookie for dessert. Ah yes a true American meal.
I started a crock pot of chili this morning at 7am. It'll simmer all day, and by the time I get home- right around 8pm -it'll be nirvana. Beef, pork, and veal all swimming around in there together... I just might close the store a little early tonight.
Chicken and rice, although I've already finished eating. FYI, the chicken came from our own coop. Delicious!
Eggy banana bread. Sounds awful, is gorgeous. 1. Put a frying pan on the heat, put blob of butter in frying pan. 2. Make a basic banana sandwich. 3. Beat 1 - 2 eggs, add a pinch of salt, some milk, and pour mixture onto a high-sided plate. 4. Sit banana sandwich into the mixture until soaked, turn over and repeat. 5. Fry in the frying pan until golden brown. 6. Remove from frying pan and sprinkle with a castor sugar/cinnamon mix.
I don't have that much of a sweet tooth, but this sounds good to me... Ha - I love that you make this sound like one of the five "mother sauces" - essential building blocks for French chefs - Bechamel, Hollandaise, Veloute, Bannana sandwich, Espagniole...
As a matter of fact I don't eat them as a rule - never been much a fan, but when done as above they're gorgeous. And they should be perfect for your unsweet tooth, as they're not that sweet. You can even leave off the sugar/cinnamon sprinkle but I think you'd be missing out on a vital ingredient.
Made some imitation bacon cheeseburger Hamburger Helper because I craved too much salt. Boca crumbles, Follow Your Heart cheese, and cashew milk because I didn't have soy. Plus what my store calls "Bac N Buds" which are those fake bacon bits. It was not as disappointing as I expected it to be. I had a salad for lunch, so I feel okay with eating copious amounts of processed food for dinner. Balance in all things.
