Porterhouse steaks with asparagus and mashed potatoes. The potatoes incorporate lots of sour cream, butter and salt, and some salsa as the special ingredient. It's key to cut the steak into strips, and the asparagus as well, and make sure you get some of each along with the mashed potatoes on every forkful. Once all those flavors hit the taste buds at the same time it's pure magic. Fresh squeezed lemonade along with, sweetened with Stevia.
Well, that was a crappy thing to say. If you ask me, this whole conversation has gone straight down the toilet.
Dialysis would be my guess. Just a nice, relaxing stay attached to a machine and some of that excellent hospital food. And Jello. There's always room for Jello.
Nope. Having what's left of my left foot amputated. Still after rehab and whatnot, I should be able to walk better than before. However, I have acquired a new appreciation for kosher food (the hospital's kosher menu is MUCH nicer than their regular menu).
Ouch. Presumably better to be footloose than legless... Best wishes and I am sure there is more to the kosher menu than chicken soup... although my dinner tonight was chicken soup...
Thank you! It has all sorts, roast chicken, steak pie, meatballs, other stuff. I had to explain to them though that I'm not actually Jewish.
Yeah, I get that when I go for breakfast with little hammer and order a veggie breakfast with black pudding... apparently it's difficult to accept that I am not actually vegetarian but am able to like a veggie breakfast and black pudding...
Best wishes for a fast recovery and other steps in the right direction. I'll keep the kosher tip in mind. My daughter did just have a baby. they are right next to me as I write this. Dinner wasn't kosher, but my husband made King Ranch Chicken in honor of the new family of three. It's our daughter's favorite dish.
I've heard that's a good trick for getting better food on airlines as well. The general cabin food is all prepared years in advance and kept in steam trunks, but if you request kosher or vegetarian they make it just before the flight. Unfortunately for me, Yahweh thinks that fish are fit for human consumption. I'm not going to say He's wrong, just that I might not be human.
You live in the Far East and don’t like fish? Now that’s unfortunate. If I lived there I’d look like a sushi roll by now!
Cooking the Thanksgiving turkey today cause that's how we like it. A nice sized one so it'll be at least four days with turkey soup on the last day. Forgot the can of cranberry jelly though but I'm the only one who likes it so not a total disaster.
I bought some maple syrup belly pork strips, so will be cutting them into chunks and blasting them in the oven to have with some Chinese style rice.
So I know I've kinda sworn off the Lounge except for a few threads, but... Was feeling lazy tonight, and also sometimes I buy a jar of canned spaghetti sauce if it's a flavor variant that I haven't tried before just to give me some fuckit I was lazy so I bought premade stuff. Some company called "Boticelli", and it was their "tomato and basil" flavored sauce. Sauteed some onions, browned some minced beef, tossed in a can of button mushrooms, and dumped the sauce in and let everything get to know itself for a while. Taste... Holy Chef Boyardee Ketchup Flavor!!!!!!!!! I mean, the best thing about this stuff was it was the same color as a baboon's ass and tasted half as good. Added some oyster sauce, Worchestershustershire sauce, garlic powder, habenero powder, and a metric fuckton of parmesan powdered cheese from a can and finally got it to something that Denny's might consider for the kids' menu. Ugh.
