I'm not usually one for schadenfreude, but I'm having fun watching the crypto scammers crash and burn, one after another.
Landed in Minneapolis. Will be here on business through Friday. Probably won’t have a whole lot of time to explore but it seems like a cool city so far. The hotel is nearly 100 years old and I dig it.
Worrying about some friends. One's in Fort Myers, Florida, getting the brunt of Hurricane Ian, and one's traveling and struggling far away. I'm not one for "thoughts and prayers" (particularly since I ain't the praying type), but sometimes that's all we have, so I'm sending positive vibes out into the universe in hopes that they help.
And now relaxing, because my friend in Florida and her family are safe safe safe and sound. Sweltering in the heat without electricity and A/C, but otherwise OK.
I need to fill mine out, too, but there is no one to vote for. In some races, there is a single candidate, none of whom I like.
Same here, but we have a couple of important proposals this year. I usually vote for the candidates for the minor offices, for whom there isn't much information available, based on their names. I thought a guy named McMath should be good on the school board.
County commissioners are the ones that affect us the most. There's only one candidate that I consider worth voting for. As with most races, it's a matter of voting for the person who will potentially cause the least amount of damage.
I'm taking an unexpected bath in beer! A keg line just blew off its sankey while I was changing it and I had to mad scramble through the spray to remove the severed head, which of course squirts vertically (into my face) instead of horizontally (off to the side). I smell delicious!
Wondering what the US would be like today if Donald Trump had lost the 2016 presidential election ... to Marianne Williamson.
Working from home today however, there are too many distractions - the dog barks for every little noise, the misses asking me to go to the shops etc. It is quieter and less distractions at the office
Insomnia, staying up to midnight so I can get my Duolingo lesson in in a couple minutes and not have to worry about it later.
Putting off doing the product photography project that I've been putting off for two weeks now. Must get done today. The deadline is tomorrow. Not sure why I've been so resistent to this project. Oh, well, get 'er done and I won't have to ponder, mull, or brood over my shortomings concerning it.
Finding reason to avoid getting up and doing what needs to be done before company gets here in about three hours. I've had this week off and it has been so lovely to be lazy in the mornings. That rise and shine stuff is for the birds, who'd better not sit on my window sill and sing me awake if they know what's good for them.
I am currently watching Ghostbusters with my children and texting my best friend to arrange a holiday to meet her next year
On winter work days, I'm up before sunrise, too. In the summer, there is one incredibly irritating bird with a monotonous call that wakes up about 3 a.m. Avicide has crossed my mind more than once.
