Just looking around in the writing forum, replying to people and stuff, it's almost 12:00 a.m. here and I need to sleep.

I am sitting next to a 18 day old baby, waiting for her to wake up for her next snack. Nice work when one can get it.:D

At his last weigh-in, he was rapidly approaching 50 pounds. He likes to lay on the ottoman on top of my feet but don't know how much longer he will fit there. Big as he is, he still has a puppy mind and wants to cuddle in my lap as well.

Would love to post photos but don't belong to a photo-sharing site and can't download directly from my computer.

My MC is in the battle of Lwow, and is stationed to support Sobieski's left flank in the village of Zboiska, but that village on the map is ten hours away. I think I'll leave the village unnamed.

You can upload pics directly from a computer - you use the middle of these three buttons (we ask people not to over do it because lots of directly uploaded shots add to the server load... but a few are fine... )

Thank you both. Slap on the forehead going out to me. When I get home, I will provide big puppy photos. Don't have any on my lap top.

This. You can do it direct from phone to. This is how I do it:

    Take a pic (with phone)

Take a screenshot of the photo (on iPhone it’s home button then quickly press power button on top)

Crop the photo (if necessary) and save to photos (screenshots have a much smaller file size)

Hit the ‘Upload a file’ button.

iOS has updated to allow you to resize photos when uploading, so you can skip the screenshots now

But that’s when you’re uploading from your phone. When you post images on here, you’re effectively using the forum’s server to download the file and there’s no option to resize when doing so.

Congratz! What are you studying? I'm particularly interested because I'm kind of fed up with my field.

Yes, that’s what I mean. If I wanted to send a pic to someone via email, using my phone, I would get the option to resize (as in your screenshot). But when you upload a file to the forum, you don’t get the option to resize, because you’re using the forum’s server to download it from your phone, even though it says ‘Upload a file’.

That’s why I said the best way I’ve found is to screenshot the image, because the file size of a screenshot is a fraction that of the original photo.

Good for you. I went back at 42 for certification in a field I worked in for 12 years before retiring. I was afraid my brain wouldn't be quick enough to keep up with kids half my age, but I graduated with a 4.0. One learns to compensate for the brain cells that have died. :D

And we're no longer killing them with all-night partying.

I'll be 44 but armed with a lot of experience, much of it relevant to what I'll be studying. I'm also aiming to have as many practical classes as possible.

Combing through some newspapers from the year 1900 and cackling at sone of the articles.

This guy literally left an ad in the newspaper warning people not to trust his ex-wife and to take his word for it. LMAO!
People were really petty in 1900!

I finally feel ready to start dating again, so I'm playing around with some apps to see which ones I like—and discovering that I take horrible selfies.

Hire a photographer. Seriously. I did when I was single and it quadrupled the number of dates I got. A colleague of mine did the same and he had many more dates too.

Good luck! Just try to relax and smile while you take the selfie. And please don't do it in front of the mirror in the bathroom ;). Then you should be fine :agreed:!
