Man, I know they're really up there, but I'm catching a serious Randy Quaid in Independence Day vibe right now :)

Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they aren't out to get you.

Having coffee and delaying getting ready for a Zoom class I'm giving at 10:00. I only have to look presentable from about midchest up, after all. The student is in Jordan. I love teaching internationally without ever leaving the farm.

(Ten points to whoever gets that obscure reference.)

Flew back from Orlando to Los Angeles last night. Landed to hear that my dad is in the hospital in New York so now I’m flying there this morning and I’ve grown weary of airport security :/

This rewrite is basically starting over, ugh. 13k words in three days, plus reworking three scenes that can work for the new version.

Back at it today. Lots of time waiting on the truck to be fixed. Hoping to be able to rework more of what is already written.

Riding the choo-choo to NYC. Billy Joel show at MSG for Valentine's Day. I don't care if he's 100 years old with a blood alcohol level of 7... Billy Joel rocks!

Enjoy! I really regret that I didn’t take my mom to one of the tours he did with Elton back in the day. Those must have been amazing.

About to leave work; I took an early lunch and drank too much alcohol, thinking it is Friday, whatevs. Then spent about 90 minutes at the bar talking to the bartender and just drinking water, went back to work to grab my stuff, and one of the managers dropped into my office to discuss a billing dispute.

FML I was just trying to hold it together as she threw all these details and questions at me, and I know I am fucked up because I had 3 glasses of wine and a double vodka-Red Bull (before my 90 minute water fest), and I’m pretty sure I got through 45 minutes of discussing the issue with her and she had no idea.

Yep. I hit Penn on the way in Tuesday and when we left on Thursday. Along with another however-many million people, haha.

So many people. Penn and Grand Central were crazy. I imagine they’re always like that.

Depends on the time of day. Best time to hit NYC is the holiday weekends when all the natives ship out. We used to have some good friends NYC who would trade apartments with us so they could hit the RI beaches. It was the greatest arrangement ever until they moved.
