Second cup of 1/2 caff coffee, after an odd night of being awakened by strange dreams I can’t remember. What the hell did I eat?

Have fun with the people pulling there code situation. Haven`t really been watching that situation as much as I may have since I`m not running Linux ATM so IDK how many people if any went through with the threat, or if they put a stop to it. Not that Linux isn`t still a good operating system just interesting time in that community. Cliff-notes version, it`s opensource, and some of it`s creators didn`t a movement that was going through around a code of conduct and such and were threatening to leave and saying they could still pull there code out. Something to watch, at least.

It has been a slow morning, but I`m settling into a nice working pace now.

I have been browbeaten by my partner into going to California for a couple of days to help him meet some people who want to buy his house. I really want him to sell his house because hey, money, but I really don't want to go to California because it sucks farts out of dead bears down there.

Anyway, I'm leaving on Thursday and will be back on Sunday (I fervently hope!) and I have to do some preparing. So I'm getting ready for the Foul Time To Come.

Watching Gilda on TCM and heating dinner (leftover chicken pot pie). The Weather guy guy said if we have tornadoes from Hurricane Michael they’ll be in the overnight hours, so I’ll be up all night. But I’m ready with 1940’s movies with gorgeous Art Deco sets, such as this one.

Finally a point to remember when black and white was classy and not just a shitty filter
people use to make their shit look more classy than it really is.
Thank you for reminding me of a part of history that makes sense and works in context. :)

That's beautiful. There's actually a fan theory that Pinkys the genuis. Pinky and the Brain, is the show and the songs "ones a genius the other ones insane Pinky and The Brain". The theory also states Pinkys mucking up of the Brains plans is too stop his world domodomina on purpose.

Interesting to think about. I do love how open the voice actors are to doing stuff like this.

Feeling utter and complete contempt for a colleague.

Last week we were discussing a list that someone found, the top ten (non-obscene) words that women supposedly hate. The person who found the list was quizzing others as to what we thought they were, and once it was clarified that the list was restricted to SFW words, some decent guesses came in. "Shrill." "Fat." "Pushy."

And that's when CC (Contemptible Colleague) keyed up. "Oh yeah, American women are so pushy, that's why I married foreign."

"Married foreign? Married foreign? That's why you married foreign?" All of us here, nearly all of us, are in binational, biracial relationships. Many of us, most of us, have a certain attraction to Asian features and physiques or perceived aspects of Japanese culture or we wouldn't have come here, but "That's why I married foreign" is going far beyond Orientalism and objectification, that's fucking commodification of women.

I dunno, I never expected to get married when I came here, and if I hadn't met the future Mrs. A, I probably would have gone home after a year or two, found a job somewhere, and married a white girl. Or a black girl, although on simple demographic percentages that's less likely. I might have even married an Asian girl if we had hit it off the way Mrs. A and I did. I'm not the perfect exemplar of the equal-opportunity boyfriend; I have physical preferences, there are some women who, based on their looks, I'd be less likely to get to know, but "That's why I married foreign?"

That shit wouldn't fly on Mad Men.

And any man who's under the impression that women raised in Asian cultures are submissive has got a nasty surprise coming :)

Listening to Creep by Radiohead, whilst eating sausage and chips. Got the doors open and I'm occasionally gazing at the golden sky behind the trees. :)

I`m not even sure what I`m doing TBH. Yesterday, was just something else. Lot`s of personnel events happened and it was just a whirlwind. One of those day`s that just makes you sit there the day after and blink. I just recently got to the point of actually sitting down and sorting stuff out and debating going to a show-tune karaoke thing tonight. Idk just been chugging Cherry Cola having my existential moments.

The karaoke thing is actually Saturday actually. So right now what i`m doing is just wondering why the mail stopped coming at four and now comes at five or six. Throws my whole routine off.

    I'm conflicted.
On the one hand, I find this terribly amusing.
On the other, I want to slap you upside your head for ruining coffee for me.
