I just finished ordering a new-used laptop/tablet (Lenovo ThinkPad X230) and a spare battery on eBay. I got my previous lappy, a refurbished ThinkPad X131e, off eBay too. But that was four and a half years ago and these past few months it's gotten slow and blue-screeny and often makes me cry. So now I will have a new one (new to me) with a touchscreen, which should work better for designing book covers in GIMP. And I'll do most of my writing on it, of course. I hope it does its job. Now that I've dealt with that, I gotta decide if I'm going to go downstairs and make some supper, or if I'll give into the temptation to stare at the TinyKittens live feed for the next five hours. . . . oh, no, I'm safe. I've got a Mark Dawson Self Publishing Formula video cast cued up on YouTube, and it makes me feel so virtuous about writing, I think I shall go down and eat.
Didn't the the word Viking originally mean something like "run down to the store"? You know, those quaint little shops on the coast of England and Ireland, with great bargains in the way of sheep and cattle and a spare female or two . . .
Oh, crumb, somehow everything between last January and earlier today got compressed, a true wrinkle in time. Oh, well.
Yeah, be aware that as we get older, it's not just time that get wrinkles. Everything gets wrinkled, stretched and deformed. At some point, we can give the monsters in the old horror movies a good run for their money, actually more of a hobble.
Planning out my week atm and setting up a bullet journal. Trying some new organizational ideas to keep productive. Also working on cleaning up the basement so we can have the oil people come through Monday. Laundry to because I woke up with no pants in the draw this morning.....this is why you need a laundry day.
Stew was Delish. Has 2 helpings. The rest of the 7 litres stored this morning in the freezer. Less himalayan salt and seasoning this time around...much better. Currently in the village Gumtreeing MTBs. No service @ home lately so have to drive in to do my online stuff. As usual, all good 2nd hand stuff is in Hobart. That's a 2-3 hr drive depending on suburb location. I think the only quality thing I bought in the top half of Tassie is a pristine PS3.
Heeey...wait...wut...perhaps I misunderstand what lynching means. I wasn't aware squirrels would be involved.
Learning how to design a book cover, because my poor ass can't afford a professional, LOL!!! Also, I couldn't draw to save my life.
Just arrived at work... it is eerily quiet, nobody here other than a single co-worker. I mean my boss isn’t even here.... My co-worker and I because there is so little to do (we both work in customer support/relations... so no customers... no work) have come to an agreement. We will alternate every hour and cover each other’s shifts whilst the other can have a coffee, sleep or whatever... Currently it is my time. Might catch up on some sleep later. ....
Having a horrifying thought. Pretty sure there is a part of hell where you are forced to listen to Fran Dranscher masturbate into a a loudspeaker. I am assuming that the guy who ear rapes you with sandpaper is much more appealing to listen to.
That CD is pretty hard to find, but some people will part with big bucks for a copy of it. Just sayin'.
Sounds like a great name for a how-to book: DRAWING to Save Your Life With the title on the cover laid out about like that. Though the second line would have to be in some calligraphy font. Yeah.
