I love tinned fish*, and my microwave is essential, so bollicks. *with the unmentioned caveat that mackerel is a bad gout food...
Now see, that's the attitude we need more of. Stick your health warnings up yer arse. I've got some arteries to clog!
Sitting (well technically laying) here with my feet elevated to hopefully relieve some of the edema in my lower legs and trying to figure out what's wrong with me giving my MC who is a freelance columnist some characters to interview. For that matter, I wonder what might be wrong with portions of those interviews being part of my story which is actually a story of him writing a column about a bunch of wackadoodles. While I'm at wondering about things, what is the technical POV of a story like that?
Trying to find a book to listen to while cleaning but it feels like everything is going from "bad" to "worse" today... doesn't help that the library's website is poorly designed for finding audio books.
Funny you should post this. My dad was adamant that we shouldn't have a microwave, because of cancer related issues. As far as I know, he'd already been diagnosed with leukaemia at that point. If nothing else, it adds to my electricity bill, is a bitch to clean, takes up counter space, and weighs a small ton.
most of those warnings are bunk - if your machine is functioning properly there will not be a microwave field outside of it, and microwaving doesnt 'create carcinogens' in any substance where they wouldn't also be created by any other form of heating. likewise with the loss of vitamins etc - only if they are destroyed by heating - and microwaving removes less than boiling since there is no surrounding water for them to leach out into. its best to get your facts from actual science, rather than sites like 'the truth about...'
Our own microwave did not have a cancer as such. Machine was old, nobody liked their bacon hot but raw, their potatoes ugly at the skin. One day I simply left him roadside. I still remember his plug trailing behind in the gutter. I hope he found a family, raised readymeals, anything really.
Still cleaning... will have spent more than a workday before I'm done. I didn't need a weekend, anyway. Only pity is that my mother will ask why I didn't clean better or point out mistakes tomorrow.
Waiting for my pizza to arrive...and feeling guilty about ordering pizza. Why? Cos I'm good at multitasking.
Son has been into health and fitness since he left school. Good diet and gym work to get a bod he's happy with. Has zero interest in smoking and drinking and eating tasty crap that's so heavily marketed to young folks. In one convo he mentioned being under the weather for 2 weeks and couldn't figure it out seeing as his diet and other health activities remained good. As we explored for any differences in lifestyle the only thing he'd introduced was taking home prepared meals to work and reheating it in the microwave. Told him what I knew about them, he doubted but agreed with my idea of experimentation to pinpoint the cause. Within 24hrs of no microwaving his usual healthy self returned.
I know I am sensitive to some electronics, so I try to minimise them if possible. Being in a LDR though does cause it's own issues regarding tech.
Always nice to read yours and Cave Troll's posts regarding your relationship. Love is the best element in existence. I had energy drain issues, but not in regards to devices, more to do with large groups of people or people with severe issues or in specifc moods, though I still regard the two types the same problem, but after research I minimise my contact with devices. eg always hands-free with me mobile. Spoiler: the usual deal... For the last several years I have a triple-layer energy field running in the background 24\7around my bod, a design of my own concoction. Doesn't bother me if it sounds new-agey to folks, I simply look at it scientifically which states reality is comprised of vibrating energies, physical matter is simply condensed energy (like clouds are condensed invisible atmosphere) or energy vibrating at a specific frequency thus is takes physical form. Therefore I mentally created my energyfield to deal with any frequencies that my bod recognises as unhealthy for me and they're nullified through the fields, not blocked. I have no proof as it's undetectable with machinery, but I no longer have energy drain issues or am adversely affected by the energy of others. eg, two folks just had a nasty row, you walk into the room having no knowledge of the fight that just occurred but you can feel the tension in the atmoshere. This is negative energy eminating from them, and if sensitive without adequate filters, you can feel various levels of unease to the point of negative physical sensations. I still retain my sensitivity but I'm no longer adversely affected. Part of this is due to increased understanding and part to the forcefield. Whether this field exists or it's a placebo effect I think can't be determined 'cus if I did an experiment of turning it off for a month, any change could be psychosomatic. Either way, no more energy drain issues.
But that wasn't because he'd used a microwave... it was because he'd eaten a shitty ready-meal. Even if he'd used a conventional oven to heat it up his body would have still reacted in the same way.
I'm wondering what the 'official' difference between a muffin and a cupcake is. Is it the texture? The presentation?
Possibly it was the gym lavatory and the taps and dirty staff not washing their hands. Gym staff do look dirty by & large.
IMO, a (sweet) muffin is larger than a cupcake. Cupcakes can be tiny or medium sized. I class anything larger as a muffin. But some other countries have savoury muffins too, and they are entirely different from the sweet ones in nearly every way.
Cupcakes are for toddlers, and ‘muffins’ as in Starbuck-style sugar muffins are for stupid people who drink their plastic coffees [official TM] - possibly while writing a novel in Starbucks. [or other coffees shoppe] Real muffins are delicious with butter/cheese, or marmalade.
Maybe it has something to do with what happens while eating. If you eat a cupcake you have one cupcake less. But if you eat muffin...?
