Having my last Fredagsmys in the apartment. Next week I'll be with my parents and the week after that I'll be at my new home with Lost! Also drawing my third bird in a row... for some reason birds are one of my favorite things to draw.
Breaking up Slugfest 2019. After finding one in my bedroom , (despite me having left the door shut) I have salted the hell out out my front door way and backdoors. There were two more trying to get in from the garden. It's raining out there...surely that is slug weather, so why the fuck are they trying to get inside my home?! For anyone who hadn't guessed, I really really hate slugs. To add insult to injury, I discovered a sizable spider standing in my hallway too. All legs. *Shudders* To think I have another year to go here yet!!
Ah, sorry to hear it, Flawed. It's awful when you get the eebeejeebies like that. I must be one of the few people who doesn't think slugs are too bad. They move slowly, so I have plenty of time to get out of their way.
Yup, I'd definitely prefer the odd slug to the 4.5cm cockroaches that occasionally show up in my apartment and necessitate a bug-bomb.
Trying to sleep. Woke up around 4 and now it's almost five and I still can't fall back asleep. I don't know if it's my body still waiting for the next morning week at work where I'd get up at 4.20... but firstly, it's weekend and secondly... I'm done with work! No more early mornings... until at least the next job!
Sipping homemade ginger "tea" my niece made me. What a good kid...teen?.....18 year old, whatever. Thinking about her sick uncle like that. I'll drive her to work. No way in hell am I letting her leave the house before the sun comes out on her own. Time to get dressed. Conquer the day! ..... sickly slow....
And then there are people like me who actively play with slugs. If I'm outside at a park or so, and a slug crosses my path, it'll become my personal pet for an hour. Letting it cling to my shirt while going about the day is fun. Cockroaches deserve nothing but death. And the Japanese ones look like roaches on steroids. Do they fly? The American sized ones (pretty big, too) fly.
Relaxing after getting rid of 90% of my furnitures... I'll be living the life of a minimalist for about a week now. I've got a bed and my balcony table and chairs... that's about it. Most my belongings are in boxes and all my clothes lives in my cabin bag. Still moving feels unreal.
By the time I actually got to bed, I discovered the slug was still there, so that died. I then pulled my bed to be over the top of it, so I didn't squish it underfoot in the night. As for the spider that had been in the hallway... You guessed it, he'd come into my bedroom as well. I actually contemplated sleeping in the living room again, but figured I couldn't move the mattress safely due to slugdom. I'd had another smaller spider scurry across the top of my duvet earlier this week whilst I lay in bed. I am really not a fan of a lot of creepies beginning with S, though I am getting better with spiders. I'm hardly a fan of snails either, but I'd rather them than slugs indoors. At least they have the courtesy of carrying a shell that isn't slimey to aid their removal.
Still outa commission. Since my last visit: - have done two small loads of firewood for The Contessa. - a full ute dump run of light household rubbish. - same day, laundromat for two small loads of clothes. - forgot to strip the bedsheets; couldn't be bothered to go back for 'em. - doing them today plus new batch of stew before mince goes off in fridge. Been two weeks since the flatties were bought; still sitting boxed on the kitchen floor. As mentioned, not as simple as screwing on legs and sitting on tables: Have to build original design mounting brackets for each, and the 43" requires 1000 x 350 x 18mm pine base to be cut to suit corner and sit on table. Just thinking about all that drains me of energy. Surely will have it all done before the new week is out.
Listening to author Terry W. Erwin II. https://pvdcast.com/2019/08/29/episode-203-terry-w-ervin-ii-2/
Yeah. Worry stones are not what I thought. I thought they would be... well a stone. But they're not. They're more special and you can't find them for free on the floor.
Get some nice ones in Tunisia or Morocco. I'll come collect you in the camper van and we can winter in Tangiers. Definitely wean you off the spinners. Maybe we could explore Islam together? ...in my camper van.
I started to listen to it, and never got to Terry. I paused it while the presenter was still talking because I needed to go do something, and when I returned a few minutes later, it wouldn't start back up again. I would have needed to go back to the beginning....aargh.
