Summer has come and passed The innocent can never last. Wake me up when September ends.

....Somehow that song just captures the feeling of the first of September. Summers gone and the hopes you had for it and you settle into a long winter hoping for change and good things but maybe not really expecting it....maybe im projecting too much. Really though, I put the song on this morning without even realizing how it was gonna hit me. When it got to the twenty years gone line....it would be twenty years or so for my own father. Never really met him but his actions saved my life in a car crash, and his working with me on the pony wheel (he was a horse trainer) is the only reason I'm able to walk. ...that all hit me a little too much.

Currently goofing about on here and eating lemon cake though I should really be in bed. Hellish weekend at work, then Monday I'm the only one on the schedule other than my supervisor. I wasn`t when the schedule was posted but so many firings. Only the part-time staff works holidays...I'm the only part-time staff left. Haven`t been there the year for full time. Outlasted everybody else though.....which is a shock.

Greaaat start to September though. Still recovering from the night before, work all day, no energy to do anything after but to wound to sleep. Tomorrows at least a shift 9-11. Normally we clock in at 8 or 9 and we leave....whenever we are told we can. We bow to the will of the room count. Coming home tomorrow and just showering, eating, and staying in bed until the morning.

Finished the dangerous game I play every morning - shaving. One misshap and boom, sliced aorta. Bye bye Moon. :p

Anyway, besides a stuffy nose, I'm feeling 80% better. That's good news for me.

    Have a great day, folks.

Getting Halloween decorations ready so I can have them up by October 1st. Never too early to prepare.

    Also wondering why I did something incredibly stupid yesterday. Guess I'm still not smart enough to remember...stuff. >_>;

Eating, looking at the forum and... writing. Couldn't guess that, eh? I'm editing a short I wrote for fun.

Fun being the story has a bittersweet ending with some relatively good person going through paranormal hell. A death here, missing persons there, lots of tears and conquering fears - the fun stuff. :p

I'll be off to bed soon though. Nighty night forumies.

I thought you were gonna tell us how much you spent on nuts at the bar at first.

Thank you for stealing two and a half hours from me. That's actually a lot more mesmerizing then expected.

Feeling good finishing my beer (mixed with soda) and my dinner after work relaxing. What was supposed to be 9-11 ended up a 9-6 still better then what I've been pulling lately. Feeling nice and relaxing for what little bit of the holiday I have left. Came home, showered, made grub, and now I'm here. Probably gonna finish the meal get another beer, and binge Hulu until I fall asleep.

Also brought a bar of soap home from the hotel with me by acdint (wrapped) and may have used it in the shower. This was playing in my head.

I was also singing and dancing to this in the shower in case anyone needed that information.

Yesterday finally installed the 43" in the living room.

    - All cutting and drilling done on the concrete verandah out the back.
    - Had to do multiple measurements and cuts for the the 300mm wide pine base and check The Contessa was happy with the TV angle for the room.
    - Then said she wanted a small square cupboard placed inbetween the tv and fireplace, so had to start from scratch.
    - This meant I had to move the table further away from the rear wall (as the cupboard was 20mm too wide), which created a 800 x 370 x 600H mm empty space that she was worried the cats would find and use as a toilet; so I then had to figure out how to either fill in or cover this hole.
    - Eventually coming across a low vanity table The Contessa was throwing away, so I chopped this up with a circular saw to make 2 of 350 x 380 tables, adding 4 legs, cutting all legs down to size, and cutting off 20mm excesses of table tops.
    - They fit quite well but I also cut a triangular thin board as a full cover over the now 3 tables; this cover sitting behind the pine base for the tv.
    - Then turned tv around to mark out and make 2 of 250 x 43 x 18 hardwood vertical arms for the back brace brackets, then had to drive into the village to grab some smaller right angled brackets as the ones I bought were over-killers. (that was a nice break as my back was getting quite sore)
    - Cut up some rubber washers out of an old bike tube to place between the wood and the tv's rear cover; installed the braces, all looked good; marked out the holes for the steel right angled brackets ; mounted them to the braces; turned tv around, placed in position, screwed the brackets to the base.
    - Gave it a decent wiggle: Only a natural disaster would topple the tv.
    - Installed DVD player, connected all cables and fired the sucker up; set up channels and familiarized myself with the Remote controls to show The Contessa; job finally and well but roughly done: Half a day, sore back, low on energy.
    - Dumped all wood scraps and old CRT at carport ready for dumping after I do the 32 today, which will be much easier as I only need to make a rectangle base, make and mount the brace brackets and remove the bedroom door and store it behind the tv cupboard.: Now I know how to do it, that's a 1-2 hr job.

    - Do the 32" today, then rest all week as my back is sore and I'm drained from the work.
    - Take old tvs to dump.
    - Have some takeaway and a coffee for a late breakie.
    - While in village, download some more TOT vids, and some off new channels: A guy that does aluminium TIG welding, and a restorer's channel as I have to learn how to clean and paint my spare brake rotors when I do full brake mod one day...including how to rebuild the calipers as the DBAs are expensive and new thus full brake kits all round is a wise move.

    - Rain has finally stop hangin' about; temps have been consistently higher; winter has finally left the building; Grass has slowly grown, some long clumps but overall not too high, will have to mow in a week. All fits in together - less rain, a week's rest, then mow.
    - Finally be able to install road tyres on treadlee, and new front der that came in post last week. Hopefuly do them this week and go for a ride.
    - Fed Junebug again the other week; another half-dead bee; she was a bit hesitant as I hit her web too much; this scares her; she finally came out and took the bee back to her place for dinner.
