You're very welcome :) Google up replacing a battery for your phone model. No tools required (maybe fingernails) - battery just clicks in like a TV remote or camera. Been there an done that with cracked screens. Never repaired, just lived with it until they stopped updates, then new. IDK - get the insurance? My son has twice refused a new phone upgrade (twice!), because it's a pain in the ass to start over. You got me on that one. Best of luck :)

or buy the laptop on ebay or similar - my current machine cost £45... it ran very sluggishly with W10 on it (I think it was originally a W7 machine) but with linux installed it runs fine

Hurting my hand and wondering wtf I'll eat for dinner today. Something disgustingly Vegan, of course, but what? Dunno. Confusing that is.

    Same.

When I use my only credit card, I only buy when there's a decent amount of interest free period, thus I can easily pay them off at the good price I paid. Used primarily when expensive stuff dies. The card is never maxed out, and I pay 3-4 times the required amount to ensure it's as empty as possible.

I only cash buy if it's really needed, with the odd personal buy every now and then.
My current mobile fone will do me for several years and my last home puta lasted about a decade, only replaced it 'cus it was physically wearing out and older model parts are becoming hard to find.

Instead of grabbing another 2nd handie, I built a new tower system ( my widescreen lcd screen still going strong after a decade), all new parts except CPU and ram, an 1155 slot M\B as that was the cheapest way to go for CPUs and level of power I needed. This new build will last me 20 years.

As for laptops, the specs I require is far too expensive new, on eBay I came across a pristine condition 8 yr old ASUS, top of the range, 2 slight case blemishes, thus both well looked after and next to no use. Cost me $250 compared to $800 current models.
Can be upgraded with an SSD drive. Most likely classified as unpopularly heavy compared to today's models, but the thing looks and feels robust and could handle life's knocks with ease...one of the reasons I wanted an older model.

There's always exceptional bargains to be found, you just have to spend some time searching and waiting. Sometimes new is not always better, same with repairing or buying 2nd handies... each item has to be thoughtfully considered regarding all the interconnected elements.

"Do not look where you fell, but where you slipped." - African Proverb

RE: Depression, and based on curing myself, I take this to mean we don't accidently slip and fall into depression in the same manner we slip while walking. When we do physically fall over, look at what caused us to fall, not focus on the end result, the damage and pain. This way we can see and avoid next time, thus increase the quality of our future life.

With Depression - don't focus on the symptoms and the pain, focus on discovering what is happening internally that creates the symptoms, this way we'll no longer uncontrollably slip into such a state.

    - Tis Sunday - resting up for the huge day in Lonnie tomorrow.
    - Looking for and downloading YT home tool building vids, found a whole bunch. My fav is a portable work bench, instead of rebuilding a section of the current work bench. Also a guide system for a circular saw to cut long lengths, which I can mount on some folding legs.

Guess who msged me sometime last night...the $60 drill press guy. Usually if a Gumtreer doesn't respond in 24hrs ( I msged him wed-thurs), it means they sold it and didn't take the ad off (sadly many folks do this). The drill press had been advertised for 3 weeks and I'd concluded it had sold..a working good brand press for $60 would sell instantly.

So I'm seeing that on Monday too... and if there's no serious issues...shut up and take my money time! So that's all four items still there waiting for me to snag.

    - Grass is now starting to get out of hand, so even if the ground is soaked, next clear day I'll have to mow, seeing as the presumed rainy season hasn't left the building, Friday was heavy rain all day.

See that is the thing, I do know why. Though I don't know why it bugs me.
Is it as simple as a bit of failure on my end, or the other side for choosing
to be willfully ignorant? Maybe it is just that simple, but you can't educate
someone who chooses to be an ass because it is easier than understanding.

On second thought, let's not go to Camelot. 'Tis a silly place.

Watching other people playing Dungeons & Dragons (streaming, not friends because my loser friends who apparently ALL play and have always all played and never told me won’t ever let me just watch a session, let alone play, and I’ve been curious for decades gosh dang it)

Breaking Vegan-edge and it feels so good. I'll give the oldest niece what she wants, I don't give a chicken ass.

Have a double date to go on now. Just waiting for the other couple to show up.

I'm trying to finish up a drawing but I'm too on edge. It's just 48 hours until my journey begins... but I fucking hate the wait. Traveling for about ten hours (with waiting time) is going to be bad enough. But I've got nothing to do for the next 48 hours and it makes me more stressed.

Since I'm at my parents place I can't sleep the day away. So drawing is more or less all I can do.

What I find really helps me relax is to get some fresh air, do some mindful breathing, make some tea, and take some trazadone (prescription, of course). Works almost every time.

You'll have to come pick it up. I'm probably not good to drive.

Will you at least provide the tea, then? I think I'll have plenty of fresh air walking to the US...

    *GASP*

Canada is not a part of the US. If anything it's the other way around, they just don't know it yet.

....I got existential while getting breakfast this morning. The lady getting coffee next to me was "talking" (more like yelling) on the phone. Her early morning discussion? Quote:
"This [insert racial slur] was knee deep in this [insert slag word for Vagina]"

This woman then became irate when the worker told her to keep it down. Throwing a tantrum as well as coffee at the guy, who managed to jump down and avoid getting hit. Then she turned her rage elsewhere, proclaiming all around to be jealous of her. Thankfully, I managed to use my chameleon powers, buy my breakfast and get out of there before I was hit with some coffee cup.

.....Anyway, eating breakfast now. Tastes good, have a good day, people.
