Heh. Its only proper to get kicked out of the war zone that is an all you can eat buffet. Either you win by continuously eating the most expensive food they've got out or they win by giving you meals that aren't worth the price of admission. It is war. My Grandma-not-Grandma taught me these Chinese secrets.
I would say autumn is a romantic season. What with the crisp weather, the cuddling to keep warm, falling leaves and playful yard work followed by hot drinks in the evening gathered around the fire. Dancing in merriment as we seek to summon the dark beasts beyond the veil as Samhain approaches and the curtain between worlds fall. Falls like villages as the beasts grow and spread. Woe to the summer, for her fruits have all grown rotten, woe to the spring for her blossoms are now frozen. Brace for the coming of the cold and the darkness that infects the land and works it's way into the heart of all mankind. Also catching snowflakes on your tongue during the first snowfall.
And then you find, those first snowflakes are actually radioactive fallout flakes from a recently detonated nuclear warhead. At least life is much shorter now.
Currently eating red grapes from a questionable source - chances of a tape worm, food poisoning etc are slim but there. The cons of practicing the religion of parsimony. But the deal was too good to pass up. Maybe I'll get a mutation from this dinner.
Slightly angry and depressed in my solitude. Of course music is up to 120 db so it vibrates the house.
Currently soaked. Was on the morning run when thunder and lightning decided to roll on in. Fun! It felt like a chase scene while I got caught in the torrent of rain. Now I should take a shower...but I'm already drenched....hmm. Breakfast first, yes, breakfast.
Oooh, today starts the Feast of San Gennaro. No better time to swing by Little Italy for some food, music and....water, no wine for me. I'll drag someone along to scout out the land, then once I find a perfect spot - date time!
Here in Little Italy. Wow, carnival rides along the tight NYC streets. Looks weird. Nice, sure, but very very...dangerous. ETA: One of the stands is selling fried pickle on a stick. .....sounds so appetizing that I'll let others enjoy it.
Thinking about things. Got back from group which is always a highlight of my week. Turns out I need to spend a bit more time on descriptions, and try to hold back on jumping into action like I could with Renegade. Also I am coming up with some really interesting side characters. Having a beer and a choc cake donut.
A toast to CT! *toasts with water* Yeah, fuck you dehydration! And a cheer for our troll! Woot! Currently I'm relaxing at home. Long day. Where is my Chinese food? It's been twenty minutes in human time, but two hours in New Yorker time.
Dump trip today due to 4 loads of scrap wood delivered on wensdee. Gonna grab some for projects on top of list. Yesterday got some aluminium guide rails for the circular saw jig. Spoiler: tud... 1: Foldable workbench. - For outside for dropsaw work and large projects. Gunna make two joinable 7-900 x 1000mm tables with new 18mm black marine ply I got many moons ago. - Deciding on this design for the sawhorse legs, plus have to design height adjustments due to table standing on uneven ground; No large flat concrete floors in our yard. Spoiler: Vid 2: Circular saw guide. Hand held for small to medium sized projects. Spoiler: Vid 3. Circular saw cross cut jig. A drop saw device for long cuts. Taking ideas from this one. I don't need all the functions. Spoiler: Vid Plus a few smaller items, marking & measuring & angle tools, wooden clamps.
Friday the thirteenth today. Here's hoping I run into Jason later on. My right arm feels all tingly. Unsure who thought laying on it all night was a smart idea.......eh. Okay, up an at em. Have a creepy 13th people!
It's the end of my first week back at work, I've cut my blisters open, had two tall cans and a hookah, and it's under 80f for the first time in ages. Life is good.
