    EXCUSE YOU

Thor = Perun = Gok Tengri

Loki = Veles = Erlik = this is absurd, do not conflate the pantheons and disrespect the old ones in this way!

The old ones are to be distinguished and revered. May you have perpetual traffic on drives to Manhattan till due penitence abounds in your heart and reparations are duly paid

I’m contemplating whether I’m going to check out a stupid free pirate event in Long Beach because I’m a dork.

I realised after I typed it that some lovecraftian fanatic would interpret “old ones” quite differently. . .

I just say “old ones” for referencing all pantheons of various peoples, cultures, and times.

“Pagan” is just so judgemental and assuming these deities are on the out. Mythological deities also seems patronising.

So when referencing all the pantheons on equal terms, I call them “the old ones.”

If you have a dignified alternative, I’m all ears.

But only because your old ones have metamorphosized me into this grotesque body horror and elhdfoaeavsrjsjfkda

Sitting in a bathroom stall. No idea when or why this seat became so comfy, but yeah.

The vandalism is very well written inside this stall. I suppose being in a bookstore, one would hope it would be.

I do suspect a Canadian was in here as one of the sentences, written by the toliet seat says "Have a nice day, eh? :)"

Underneath that is a "fuck you too" for the native Brooklynite.

Yeah, I need to leave. Maybe five more minutes....

Whenever the fates ever aligned that I felt the need to do that, "Your mother is a classy lady" was my go to.

We need more Canadians here. Could use the positive messages.

Not for any "good feeling" or whatever. Its just that, how many times can one see "fuck you" written inside a stall before it gets old?

    ETA: Fixed another phone typo....

Wondering why no one round here likes to talk about films. Yes we have a sticky thread, but it receives one post about every nine weeks, and even then said posts never spark any discussions.

Finished eating a late lunch. Grilled chicken panini with red peppers, cheese and pesto sauce. Was good, 10/10 will eat again.

Now I'm getting ready to run home. To the sofa. The comfy sofa I can become one with....not before working out a bit, but still.

Well I only watch the oldies... and the classics... and the cults. We're all film fans, no? Or is it only me that watches the good stuff? Quite frankly I'd rather suck sick through a tramp's sweaty sock than watch the modern films. *

    * with the exception of anything by Quentin Tarantino and/or Jim Jarmusch

Were those the original lyrics to Cheers?

Wait. That only makes sense if you're a Friends fan. And even then it doesn't make much sense.

I’m on about pt6 of ‘ThePassion of Anna.’ Hero looks like me...

You know I've only seen The Seventh Seal. I found it mesmerizing but it never spurred me to seek out more of his films. Maybe I should.

Totally unrelated but I'll tell you what is worth watching. The Ninth Configuration.

I found 7th Seal very difficult - his other stuff I can - consume [hew] - like soap opera.

Kestrel for a Knave’s on iplayer, new version...radio.

    Great Dictator - Chaplin - that’s a big surprise...

Yes to the Ealings. Not so Sexy Beast. The only time I've enjoyed watching Ray Winstone was in Quadrophenia.

    Not seen BL.

I ran him over on my bicycle.

Go through one of those ‘top tens.’ Force yourself to watch ‘Tokyo Story’/‘Bicycle Thieves.’

This is one more old fart getting on the bandwagon! On the other hand, I was in construction after I left factory work. On the other hand between the time I left construction and when I was listed as disabled, I did work as staff for a temp service, and if I believed in farcebook or other such stuff I could have been a great help, or done great damage to the company I worked for.

I agree with this too, but then I was in one nursing home/rehab or another for the past 7-8 months, and those are great places to culture contagions. An ALF/elderly low-income facility is another great place for such cultures, and that's the sort of place I'm in now. Needless to say, I'm very observant about the actions of those around me.
