People who spend their lives on the big SM sites get everything they deserve. They're all mugs.

If you recognize him, it's entirely possible that you could've appeared in suggested "people you know" or whatever.

Practically all of these social media sites and dating sites harvest every last 1 and 0 of your information, including location, places you frequent, people you swiped right or left on, mutual friends and all THEIR information, etc. Many apps on your phone are often communicating this sort of information, or will ask for your permission to do so every single time you open them. And then it gets shared to all sorts of other places.

Basically, you're just one degree of Kevin Bacon away from that other person, as far as the AI is concerned. It's just doing it's job, saying, "Hey! Remember this person?"

 

I wasn't talking about you necessarily. I don't know that you do spend all your time on SM.

 

. . . maybe.

But that also doesn’t solve his being inhumanly handsome, which of course is a major issue.

 

For some reason this conversation made me think of this.

 

Yeah, can't help you there I'm afraid, being drawn by sirens and vixens myself like the Millennium Falcon being tractor-beamed by the Death Star. Handsome and beautiful people are sort of like the Blair Witch: once it's got you, it'll never let go. Isn't it fun?!

EDIT: Uh, realized I was projecting a bit. But the question was meant to be rhetorical. And I was being hyperbolic anyway.

Back to what I was doing: writing another God forsaken essay.

 

Wondering why those who enter the poetry contests never show their face in the poetry sub forum, and vice versa.

 

Only a few of us do both.

 

Maybe it's a case of those who enter the contests are confident enough not to need critiques, and vice versa.

 

Probably have good beta readers ripping them apart elsewhere.

 

Finished buying another book. Need it for study reasons relating to the wip. That and filling my bookshelf up again, after giving away a lot of my old stuff is kinda fun.

I'm inspired to write a story about a small group that baits these butthole buckets. They would then be gruesomely and publicly dispatched. It will be a thinly disguised instruction manual.

 

Hmm, I never assumed your handle had anything to do with your real name, and IIRC your first avatar was either gender-neutral or anime/manga related. Plenty of people who identify as dudes will happily use their favorite female characters from the Japaniverse as avatars, so I never read much into that either.
