Sitting in my office with the patio door open waiting for the birds to hit the bird bath. I'm still wondering if I will ever recover from a POS I wrote and sent to a beta. The fact they were nice about it made it worse. It has taken the steam out of me. I know boo hoo, you're a grown ass man get over it.
Hey, at least it's a finished POS. How many POS ideas on this forum (including my own) ever evolve into tangible pieces of shit? 1 out of 1000? Worse? Either way you're way ahead of the game, bruh!
i just finished eating a late lunch. I found it quite satisfying. now i'm wondering whether i should find someone to voice chat with while I do chores or someone to text chat with while i don't do chores. i'm in the mood for a conversation but the laundry needs folding.
Meal prepping, I guess. Decided on a whim to make a giant batch of this spicy pasta thing I created back in the day. Usually used ground beef, but I'm swapping for pinto and kidney beans.
just a spell. but if i do include it i need it to affect the story, and i need the effect to make sense.
I'm waiting to be sleepy enough to go to bed. I'm tired enough: today was branding day at the Lazy 2H.
I'll bet my son never thought of pencils when he registered his brand. In reality, the 2 lies on its back (thus it is lazy) and the H is straight up. H is for our last name.
Reading the title of this thread in an increasingly accusatory tone, the longer I get stuck on and procrastinate my WIP. Less "So hey, what are you doing? What's up?" and more 'OHMIGOD WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!"
Rather surprisingly I'm already working on a new short story idea a couple of days after completing the first draft of a work I think failed on a couple of levels. Perhaps my experience of writing for twenty years is finally aligning with my tolerance. In other words, I've shrugged it off and I'm moving on.
Cause we as humans have butts, and we need something comfortable to plant them on. Then again, we plant our butts on lots of things: tables, desks, rocks....
Just finished recording and editing another book review, this time for a non-fiction work entitled Enchanted: A History of Fantasy Illustration. Pretty productive day in terms of hobbies. Wrote some of my new story, read a decent amount of my new book Darkness: A Cultural History, and now this review.
Sitting on a tall stool in my kitchen while waiting for water to boil for a dinner I dunno what it'll be yet, and plotting weekend projects because I don't have time to paint a closet tonight but I am going to take care of the shelves. Water is boiling. But what is going in that water? Soba. No! Ramen. And corn and edamame.
