It was just a short jolt, didn't make the news here either. They do focus your attention though.

With all the rain we’ve been getting, I’ve been tempted to go into the attic and watch my new roof not leak. As it is we’re getting ready for the electricians to come fix the second floor, so we can have lights up there, without running extension cords all over the place; and the drywall folks to come fix the water damage. Deferred maintenance is expensive.

Watching Mission Impossible Fallout. I’m a big fan of the MI films but this one hasn’t got off to the best start because I’ve been asked to buy the fact this incredibly intelligent team, with all their secret tech, had to conceive an incredibly elaborate deception to trick a baddie into giving them.... wait for it.... the passcode to his smartphone, so they could access some vital information on there. Most 9 year-old kids can find their way past a smartphone’s passcode FFS!!

Wyoming has 97,818 square miles. 51,100 square miles of that is sagebrush steppe, and that's being conservative. Where are you, if it isn't a secret?

Eastern Washington. I’ll confess I thought Wyoming was just mountains and a lot of grass.

That's okay. I thought eastern WA was all wheat fields. Of course, now that I come to think of it, the two times I travelled through that area, all I saw were wheat fields.

Well we have a lot of those too. But further west in the Columbia Basin it is much drier.

Came here to say I've been playing a lot of GeoGuessr lately, which means I must be too wound up about something, and then what is the post above me but a Google Earth screenshot...which just makes me want to go back to playing GeoGuessr...very triggering tbh.

Watching american track and field conference champs.
The announcers are hilarious... In the 5k, a woman speeds past her teammate who was in the lead to take the win and the announcer yells "ET TU, BRUTE!? HER OWN TEAMMATE!!!!???" :superlaugh:

I dont know why that was so funny to me:supergrin:

I, er, wrote a long thread on Reddit about preferences in a certain genre. It ended up catching the eye of some authors on Twitter. Slightly awkward but it all turned out good. The wonder of social media.

Just spent literally the entire day writing. I was already working on a new short story, but I decided to completely rewrite and revamp an old one that got rejected many times. It started by simply moving blocks of text and turned into something almost entirely new. I think I wrote 2k words and modified what I kept. It takes a lot to do that after getting several rejections in the past few days.

Trying to discover if the pair of AirPods I found lying in the grass at 07:30 this morning while doing my litter bin round in the park are genuine. There’s no Apple logo anywhere and when I switched my iPhone’s Bluetooth on, something with the name TWS-i7 came up. If I search the internet for this everything suggests they’re a cheap knock-off product, and yet when I flipped the lid on the case, my phone popped up a message saying “Not your AirPods” and underneath that “Connect”. I hit connect and they work just fine. Sound amazing.

In that my phone detected them as AirPods can I assume they’re genuine?

Well everything suggests they’re genuine. Serial number is recognised on apple website (comes up with purchase warranty and support details) but I’m still not convinced.
