Ok, now I'm only reading Emma, because the other was boring as hell, not to mention completely confusing.
The Soul Drinkers Omnibus by Ben Counter. Haven't liked his work before, but the first seven chapters in and he is slightly redeeming himself.
Reading John the Revalator, it's very good and the descriptions of mundane things are really great. Just finished Carey's Jack Maggs also which was very good
Right now I'm reading the Complete Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams and The Last Don by Mario Puzo. I know, I know, so very in sync, right? I'm on book three of the guide and WOW - Adams was a comedy genius. So witty, so clever! And he didn't even particularly enjoy writing. Irony, thou hast struck again.
The latest issue of the Paris Review. Interviews with Nicholson Baker and Dennis Cooper. I love interviews with writers!
Shame in the Blood... i'm struggling through it... definitely one for the 'Books you think are overrated' thread at the moment! The last 100 pages or so need to turn things around!
Just finished Fall of a Kingdom. It is pretty good: a simple, light read with some interesting twists to it.
iv just finished Orsan Scott Cards How to Write Science Fiction and Fantasy, was pretty good but i need to read some fantasy fiction now, feels like it has been forever since i read anything that wasn't reference material. all in all though it was a pretty light read, not unhelpful just untaxing.
gace up on Shame in the Blood...now reading I Am Legend....the movie is totally different! Lovin it so far though
I'm reading The City and the City by China Meiville, thanks to a recommendation I saw somewhere on here- loving it so far.
The 5th book in Karen Marie Moning's Fever series; Shadowfever. Love love LOVE KMM's books! So darned addicting!
Chuck Palahniuk's Lullaby is turning out to be a very excellent horror-satire. Reading up on the context of the novel in relation to Palahniuk's life also helps shed some light on the reasons for writing this novel that has been seriously overlooked by a lot of people.
I'm reading Along for the Ride - Sarah Dessen Before that I read Evolution by Jennifer Donnelly Both are very well written.
Just started reading The Wheel Of Time series by Robert Jordan. I can't believe it's taken me so long to find it, it's fantastic! Right up my alley.
I've been intimidated by those books for a couple of weeks now. There are so many of them, and they're so un-godly large.
I'm currently reading a metric-f* ton of Shakespeare for university, and a few books related to WW1. As well as, still, The Divine Comedy. Studying has gave me a mountain to read over this first semester back.
Started reading Straight by Boy George (George O'Dowd) last night. It's his second autobiography. He is easily my biggest writing inspiration despite not even being a fiction writer.
Death to the BCS: The Definitive Case Against the Bowl Championship Series by Dan Wetzel, Josh Peter and Jeff Passan.
I think that's why it took me so long to go and buy one. You won't regret it, though it might take a few chapters for you to feel that way. It took about five for the adventure to get underway.
The Unkown Terrorist by Richard Flanagan. I stumbled upon it by accident, great book about modern Australia...
Does it mention that Australia keep getting hammered in the Ashes, or does it skate over that? I'm just getting started on The Difference Engine by William Gibson and Bruce Sterling. I've read a fair bit of steampunk in the last year, so I'm looking forward to this one.
