Good man. Currently reading a new translation of a collection of Kafka short stories. This it not a bad translation.
I just discovered and BREEEEEEEZED through A Game of Thrones...can't believe I'd never heard of this series up until a few weeks ago... As soon as A Clash of Kings arrives in the mail, I'll be eagerly starting and inhaling that too (sometime next week I HOPEEE!)
Finished Princess Academy a few days ago, such a sweet book! Now, that I've taken a step into reading more fantasy...I just started The Hobbit by Tolkien. My dad gave it to me forever ago, but it's my first time reading it.
I'm really getting into John Green's books. Loved Looking For Alaska when I read it a while ago and loved Paper Towns which I finished yesterday.
I'm reading: Pariah by Bob Fingerman Nightmare at 20,000 Feet by Richard Matheson And I'm listening to: Tooth and Nail by Craig DiLouie All good so far!
I finished A Cold Season, and very much enjoyed it. Now I'm starting on Gary McMahon's Rain Dogs, probably to follow with Susan Hill's The Woman in Black (before I go to see the film).
The Blind Assassin by Margaret Atwood. The first of her books that I've read; enjoying it tremendously so far!
Currently reading Unweaving the Rainbow by Richard Dawkins. I know. Non-fiction? What's wrong with me? It's not his best work. Dawkins' Greatest Show on Earth is one of the best books I've ever read so I'm finding Rainbow slightly disappointing.
currently gave up on uni work and reading "the way to paradise" by llosa. hopefully it will give me some insights on how to go about finding it y'know )
I just finished The Neverending Story and the Mars Trilogy. (Red, Green, Blue) Just could not stop misreading it as Fantasia.
Just finished One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovitch by Alexandr Solzhenitsyn for the second time. Now reading Vita Nouva by Dante Alighieri for the second time.
Just started on Heart-Shaped Box by Joe Hill, Stephen King's son. I know he doesn't want to be known for that, but I still can't get over how cool that is.
Just finished re-reading Perdido Street Station. It's still brilliant. I'll be getting started on Casino Royale later in the day.
I decided to buy A Game of Thrones because of everyone saying how good it is and singing its praises. I'm only just over a hundred pages in, and I really can't get on with it. I feel bad for not liking it, but I'm really not. Is it just me? Am I missing something? Does it get better as it goes on? I feel weirdly guilty for not liking it. lol.
Starting Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire for the first time today. It's nice and big, I'm looking forward to it.
I've just started reading The Hunger Games, I'm just up to the beginning of the main "event". I am totally enthralled by it, what an amazing book! Makes me want to have a go at writing in first person. I highly recommend it, you can read a sample on Amazon of the first chapter. Totally hooked me, so I had to buy it. I'm super impressed by it so far. It's nothing at all like what I expected it to be.
I just finished "The Fault In Our Stars" - and I loved every minute of it! Two cancer patients fall in love and the rest is a pile of happy tears. I do suggest, if you have the time, reading the book. I find it to be my fun filled (Rom-Com) book of 2012.
Unusual for me: fiction, hardback and hot-off-the-press. This isn't the sort of thing that happens to someone like you by Jon McGregor..who some think is the next big literary star etc etc. Very handsome volume. Splendid title.
