    Twelve, by Jasper Kent.

I'd never heard of it, until I found it in Waterstones, but it's actually really good. A historical-horror, set in Russia during the Napoleonic invasion :) Just my kind of novel.

The Fall of the House of Usher and other writings - Edgar Allen Poe.

    I LOVE this man.

I also seen that book in Waterstones and was intrigued, but alias, no money to buy it.

Well from what I've read so far, it's worth adding to your to-buy list :)

I'm a long time fan of Poe, though I haven't read them in years.

    I'm currently reading three books:

"No Safe Place" by Richard North Patterson. -- in paperback.
(a thriller novel about a Presidential candidate, an affair that is likely to be exposed, and a man determined to kill him.)

"To Kill a Mockingbird" -- on audio book, during my commute and while walking the dog.
    (the classic)

    and
"Unitarians and Universalists." -- in hardcover.
a history of two liberal religious sects.

Before long, I'll done with these and on to others. In the reading poll thread I posted all the books I read this year. I keep track of all the books I read for some reason, I've been doing it for the past few years.

    Update:
Finished "To Kill a Mockingbird" audio book.
Started Shakespeare's "King Leer" audio book.

I finally got around to finishing Stephen King's Duma Key. It was a good story, once it finally got going. I think it would have been an even better story in half the words, maybe even one third.

I just started Fleet of Worlds by Larry Niven and Edward M. Lerner. It's set in Larry Niven's Known Space universe - those were my favorite books of his.

I'm midway through Stephen King's "The Stand" ... the extended, uncut edition. It's been a great read, and I give myself a little pat on the back each time I pick up that 1,100 page monster. :)

"The Shinning" ... YES. :) You're either another Simpson's fan, or you need to use your speelchecker more often.

I'm reading two series right now. The Drenai saga by David Gemmell and the Wheel of Time by Robert Jordan. They're pretty good.

    Dracula - Bram Stoker

It's been on my bookshelf for a long time but I've never actually read it. I'm about half way and it's pretty good so far.

Just started Stephen Goldin's "The Eternity Brigade." So far, so good. I'm not really sure what it's about. I don't like reading synopsis...(es?) because I tend to figure out the ending and it ruins twists. I happened to find this one in a collection of ebooks on my laptop and started reading. I'm hoping it turns out well.

I started reading The Handmaid's Tale, by Margaret Atwood. I love reading fiction that takes place in dystopian worlds, and so far, Atwood has an interesting take on things.

Just finished two short stories by H.P. Lovecraft. Cool Air and The Beast In The Cave.

Moving on to the Dark Jewels series by Anne Bishop. Well, I'm checking out the first novel at least. We'll see where it goes.

The Last Theorem by Arthur C. Clarke and Frederik Pohl.

I've heard mixed reviews, so there's part of me that's a bit hesitant over getting stuck in.

I read that several months ago and now I'm addicted to Margaret Atwood.
