Got the last 40 pages of 'Human Traces' by Sebastian Faulks to read, then I think I'll read 'The Woman in Black' by Susan Hill

I had to read 'The Woman in Black' in Year 9 at school and I gave up within the first couple of pages, though lots of other people loved it. I'm tempted to try and read it again.

Finished Beyond Good and Evil. It is one of the most challenging books I've ever read, and I took my time with it, but boy was it worth it.

Just about to start Bag of Bones by Stephen King.

Finally bought a copy of Imperial Bedrooms, getting into that now. It's pretty short, but like most of Bret Easton Ellis' work it's like an emotional vacuum, and reading it is an exhausting though extremely rewarding experience.

Just read The Enemy by Charlie Gibson. It's a Dystopian YA in which people over the age of 16 have either died or turned into these zombie-like creatures. Really liked it.

I've read about that in the back of Gravity's Rainbow by Thomas Pynchon; is it really that good? I've been tempted by it more than once.

    Stalking Widow by John Burke
    I'm up to page70
I was drawn to it by the title. The idea of a female stalker intrigued me. Opposite of the norm.
So far I have not been disappointed

Yeah, the copy I have has an introduction by Pynchon. It's a fantastic book. It's written in a very strange style, but it captures the late fifties well and the protagonist is like no character I've ever seen.

I'm so excited about David Grossman's new novel To the End of the Land which I purchased today in hardback. Will start it tomorrow night. It will get me through the dreaded MONDAY.

Paul Auster compared Grossman's novel to Tolstoy.

Just finished 'The Rehearsal' by Eleanor Catton. It was pretty good, I read it in a day and a half. I think I'm going to reread it again at some point to make more sense of it.
And now I must really start on some reading for uni.

Reading In this House of Brede by Rumer Godden, for a book group. It's driving me up the wall. The dialogue is all in-line in the paragraph, and she regularly doesn't tell you who is speaking until after the dialogue, when it turns out to be by somebody who isn't even in the conversation you're reading about but something somebody else said years earlier. It makes reading it a real grind, and I doubt I'll finish it.

I am reading Atonement by Ian McEwan now. I'm still on page 50, but I will try to finish by tomorrow or the day after :)

Finished, and despite some initial reservations, heartily enjoyed it. I've reviewed it on my external blog, if anyone wants more details.

Currently rereading the Harry Potter series. Only on book one at the moment. I'm going to see if I can pick up on anything that I missed before.

Just finished a poetry book, called In the Cafe Treste; it was really good.

Started One Flew Over the Cukoo's Nest. It's amazing.
