Does everyone want to know why California is the best? Or do we all understand this as fact?

I've been to LA and San Diego. One was a school trip and the other was for an anime convention. Both times I experienced the bright light bulb in the sky you call the sun. I wondered how you got it to not burn your skin in the summer. Pretty mysterious if you ask me.

Honestly, politics aside, I quite like Texas. Hopefully one day we will kick our prohibition style laws to the curb.

Because of the presence of a certain feline-type forum member who shall remain nameless?

I personally really love Colorado. I've been to Denver, Colorado Springs, Estes Park, and Buena Vista. I loved every minute. I'd move there if I could convince my husband to. My brother-in-law's family lives in Golden. I'm sure they'd be happy to have more friends nearby.

We must be cut from the same cloth, my friend. I ask my husband at least once a week when we're moving to Colorado.

I personally hate Kentucky. I hate big valleys and going over bridges that are high in the air... I hate having to drive so far to get to places that are somewhat sophisticated, like a shopping mall... I hate stupid prohibition laws... and I hate racism.

I went to Kentucky once and it was such a beautiful place. Thankfully I don't have to deal with the politics and the racism. :p

Edit: I come from a little island in Canada, and Kentucky was the first place I experienced street preaching. It was really bizarre having pamphlets forced into my hand at every intersection.

It might be beautiful in some areas, but if you take a long drive on a back road through a lot of the small cities, you'll see some of the trashiest places, that will bring to life every Jeff Foxworthy joke you ever heard.

I've only been to Kentucky once and it was like the Twilight Zone. Which is also how I feel every time I find myself in Oklahoma. I kept asking for directions to certain areas in the town I was in, and everyone said they couldn't help me because they lived about 10 minutes away. Which is so odd to me. How do you know know where anything is when you work there every single day?

Might also be odd to me because where I live in Texas, a 10 minute commute equates to "just down the street."

Well even if they give you directions, they will tell you it is, "over the next hill," "a country mile down the road," or "in the next holler."

I only understand Texas-Southern. If they'd say, "just down yonder" I'd get it.

I'm from New York. And I sadly do not currently live in California (but plan to return).

There are just potatoes and farms everywhere! I'm running this sumbitch off of several potato batteries! Wanna know what we've got for entertainment? FARMING F*CKING POTATOES!

...Of course I'm just kidding, I'm just more of an indoor person unless there's something interesting around here, which, where I live, there really isn't.

I thought about moving to Lexington.

I've been on this big kick where I wanna move somewhere else. lol So I've been frequently hunting down new cities that I might be interested in. Pittsburgh was first (which I'm sure Kingtype remembers :p), then it was Lexington or Omaha. I'll probably just end up back near STL though. My dad has a bunch of land out in the boonies, and for some reason, the thought of building a house on it is very appealing to my city-boy, must-have-best-internet-service husband. lol I think he underestimates what I mean when I tell him, "it's literally in the middle of nowhere." He doesn't quite grasp that Illinois is corn fields for days.

I have always wanted to visit Montana though. And Maine. Maybe someday.

I used to want to live in NY. Then I realized that I'd have to live in a literal broom closet to be able to barely afford it.

    No, really.

My goal for retirement is to sell my home and buy an RV, and just go everywhere in the US.

But you were commenting on my reply to @Megalith's comment in which he quoted me.

I repeat, if people stop posting a one sided political narrative I have no reason to post my POV. And I asked the mods to step in and stop it back at the beginning of this thread; they declined.

But since the thread has currently moved on, and that's what I asked the mods for in the first place, that's certainly fine with me.

It's probably safer that way. @No-Name Slob Babs, if they see you outside the campgrounds at night, they'll shoot you on sight.
