People don't realize this about Trump, but he's actually a genius. Who would have thought that fixing the American economy was as simple as making other countries pay for everything you need?

 

He's going to send Hillary around to give speeches to each of those countries. That'll pay for things in no time.

 

Lilly Ledbetter claimed that she was being discriminated by her gender because she was receiving poor evaluations from her supervisors and thus was not receiving raises. Over the 20 years she worked there, with the constant change of supervisors, you don't think that one, at least one, was not sexist and discriminatory? Furthermore she knew about her pay discrepancy in 1992, which, she testified in court to the matter. She then lied about an anonymous note that was delivered to her only recently telling her that she had been discriminated against in order to garner sympathy for the Supreme Court's decision to drop the case, even though there were other laws she could have taken advantage of, such as the Equal Pay Act, which has a much longer statute of limitations. I'd like to put out the theory that Ms. Ledbetter was not a good employee and that is why she received poor evaluations, not because she had a vagina. It's possible that she concocted this scheme later because she felt that she had been ripped off for working for them for 20 years, doing a poor job, and never receiving any significant raises, while people who were doing their jobs well were getting raises, and knew that most people would believe a gender discrimination case.

Furthermore, are we even sure there was a pay discrepancy? I mean all she claimed to her supervisors was that her male co-workers were making about 1000 dollars more a month. However, what we don't know is which male co-workers she's talking about. Are we talking about male co-workers that were in the same exact position, had the same amount of hours, worked the same amount of time as her, did about the same job as her, and had the same level of education as her? Or, are we talking about male co-workers that might have worked an extra 10-20 hours per pay period, might have had a higher education level, might have been at that company for a longer period of time than her, might have been doing a better job than her and making more money for the company, thus resulting in bonuses and better pay raises, might be doing a different job than her and was compensated at a different rate than her? Because, all we heard was "Male co-workers", no factors, no details, no variables to take into account.

As for Lawrence, the problem was, and she said it herself, is that she didn't negotiate well. Those movie studios are going to try and pay anyone, man or woman, as little as humanly possible in order to try and save as much money as possible, and, if you're not a tough enough negotiator, they're going to try and take every last penny that they possibly can from your paycheck. Lawrence was afraid of seeming like a brat and didn't think that she needed to fight over millions of dollars that she frankly didn't need due to two movie franchises she has starred in. (Those were her words in an interview she did, not mine.)

This is the best you can give me for the oh so great "Gender Wage Gap" A single liar and a poor negotiator that already has millions in her bank account. Clap, clap. If there had been a whole company with women showing clear cut proof that men, who have similar backgrounds to them, worked the same hours as them, with the same positions, and same amount of time worked there, were being paid more then them, then you'd have a leg to stand on here.
