You would be amazed and what can be done. This could be the end of world hunger issues. People could run on solar energy, and there could be "food" that are programmed on discs for when people want to feel the pleasure of taste. Also think about the scene in The Demolition Man where Stallone and Bullock have sex through a computer linked to their brain.

I wonder if there would be robo-racism...

~ "Dude, I saw a Mark 2.7 the other day hanging out with an Orbit Class 1.1 aluminum job."

~ "So, some of my best friends are aluminum."

~ "You say that now, but if you were to see your home sync-module updating an aluminum, you'd be singing a different tune. Plus you know what they say about the bus cable on those aluminums. Your sync-module would never be the same again."

~ "That's a myth, man. Go get defragged."

Even cheaper in resources - put everyone's minds in servers and create a virtual world that they can live in. Hmm, that sounds familiar.

That's where the people were the energy source for the server. :)

    The Matrix.

Also exploring dangerous places wouldn't be too difficult.

I'm pretty sure if people remain people, there will be. If not racism, then class consciousness. It's a certainty that not everyone will get the same quality of robot body. In fact class differentiation would be even easier to maintain. Can't argue with model numbers or brand.

"Oh dear, how did those economy models get in here? They'll leave oil stains all over the place."
"And don't you hate how their data transmission speeds are so dreadfully slow. I go into standby mode just talking to one."

Plus... No more sleeping. No more countless hours waisted laying on the bed and doing nothing when I could have been productively sitting on my couch playing video games.

Catching a computer virus is also a risk if everybody is connected to internet wif-fi.

I'm not British but I thought of this as soon as I read the thread title.

If the entire would is ruled by cybermen, they will just work like regular machines with little interactions.

I wouldn't mind being a robot. It would be cool to have a more "dependable" brain. My real brain tends to remember some things with insane accuracy while managing to forget other things almost immediately after hearing-seeing-reading about them.

Depends how much memory space you get.

I wonder how much MB and RAM the human mind has...
I'm assuming that if people were upgrading to robots it would be because their power exceeds the human brain. Anyways, if I get lots of memory it would be nice to be able to find everything.
