I saw cloverfield today, it had a few good scares in it. It was filmed kind of like Blair Witch, all home video stuff, which annoyed me after a while. It was a decent movie though. Juno is about a pregnant teenager who is trying to put her baby up for adoption, its a comedy/romance kind of thing. The wikipedia article here has more details, but don't read it if you don't want it to be spoiled.
There are so many... Rambo Bond 22 Jumper Prince Caspian Get Smart Wanted X-Files Movie Star Trek Valkyrie (This one sounds really good. Its about Karl Von Stroffenburg and the attempt to kill Hitler) Twilight (Based on the book)
Apart from the earlier response, it's also similar in style to the movie Little Miss Sunshine, but better. Another X-Files movie? Wow, I'm intrigued.
Ooh, I also want to see Cloverfield, Juno and Bond 22. Juno is meant to be excellent and I've heard various things about Cloverfield. I saw I Am Legend and really enjoyed it, though it was very sad and a little disappointing. Also tried Beowulf, but hated it, only watched 20 minutes before turning it off. It was so inaccurate and badly done. It would have made no sense if you hadn't read the book, it didn't stick to the story line and didn't explain anything. Watched half of Saw IV and it's good so far, but I had to turn it off because it was a bad idea watching it with an upset stomach
I saw I Am Legend last night. It was pretty good, but I wish they went into the mountains - more potential.
I'm a pretty big movie junkie, but I don't really know of any movies that are coming out in 2008. I plan to see Cloverfield, but aside from that I don't know of anything that looks good. Good movie - but I was still disappointed. There was so much more they could have added to the storyline.
Oh, I really want to see the second Golden Compass movie, though I'm not sure if it will come out this year.
Well let's review this list from 2007: Charlie Wilson's War: Never saw it, probably won't. Juno: Saw it and liked it. Sweeney Todd: Still desperately need to see it Walk Hard: Still haven't, would like to. National Treasure 2: No thanks. The Dark Knight: Not out yet, must see. Cloverfield: Ain't touching that. Get Smart: Meh. Indiana Jones: Not out yet, must see. Vantage Point: Saw it, actually liked it. Also, I'll add on Hancock and Wall-E.
By all accounts, Speed Racer is going to be decent. I'm looking forward to Mongol, too. I was really looking forward to Wonder Woman when Joss Whedon was at the helm (major fan of most things Joss) but now I guess I'll have to hold out for The Dollhouse, even though that's a TV show.
So far have seen Sweeney Todd, Charlie Wilson's War and Cloverfield. Sweeney Todd was awful, I absolutely hated it, Charlie Wilson's War was brilliant, though not my sort of movie - the acting was superb and it was just very powerful. Cloverfield was a lot better than I had been expecting, though the plot was disappointing, and the ending sucked.
