    What Poetry Book Are You: Quiz

    Discussion in 'The Craft of Writing Poetry' started by dbesim, Jan 22, 2015.

    Here's for a bit of fun.

    Do any of you enjoy personality quizzes? I personally love them! I've got one here about poetry which you could all do for a bit of fun. I know people don't usually share the results they get on personality quizzes, but I was wondering if you can share your answers for the sake of chat. You don't have to.. If you have an opinion on personality quizzes, you could share that too!

    I am....The Classic Tradition of Haiku: An Anthology

    When it comes to poetry, you like them in the smallest sizes. In fact, it's the only way you remember them! The little book of haiku not only befits all needs, but you'll find that the syntax is really quite remarkable.

    For everything that's bright and beautiful, there is you. This is because you absolutely love the sunrise, enjoy the color yellow and are most interested in poetry that comes from other cultures. Haiku is your poetry not only because it comes from the land of the rising sun itself but it spans 400 years of all its glory.

    As someone who's well-traveled, loves the sun, enjoys poetry from foreign cultures and thrives at being at the heart of it all, haiku is your perfect personality match.

    Not too far off :)

    Penguin's Poems for Love

    A picture of you enjoying warm, fuzzy feelings and having a cup of cocoa indoors while it lightly snows and dreaming about the love of your life raises a smile.

    It doesn't really matter what time period poems are from as long as they're about love. Love, afterall, is infinite, constant, possibly the only poetry even worth remembering, so why should time-period even matter? You do have a habit to tend to memorize poetry that you like and it usually is about love.

    A poetry book written by many different poets from every time-period and all writing about your favorite theme is your perfect book match. Oh-la-la!

    Hm. Not sure about this... I like war poetry and country/bush poetry...
    Maybe it's my inner romantic :love:

    I got Call of the Valley? But I googled it and can't find it. Plus I got distracted on the site and did the what-Disney-heroine-would-you-be quiz and got Ariel.

    I think this one's more fun - which famous poem was written about you? :p
    https://www.playbuzz.com/avibwx10/what-famous-poem-was-written-about-you

    I got: She Walks in Beauty by Lord Byron

    "She walks in beauty, like the night
    Of cloudless climes and starry skies;
    And all that's best of dark and bright
    Meet in her aspect and her eyes:
    Thus mellow'd to that tender light
    Which heaven to gaudy day denies."

    I got there is another sky by Emily Dickinson
    "There is another sky,
    Ever serene and fair,
    And there is another sunshine,
    Though it be darkness there;
    Never mind faded forests, Austin,
    Never mind silent fields -
    Here is a little forest,
    Whose leaf is ever green;
    Here is a brighter garden,
    Where not a frost has been;
    In its unfading flowers
    I hear the bright bee hum:
    Prithee, my brother,
    Into my garden come!"

    Yeah, I was looking for my favorite color orange and had to settle for yellow.

    I eventually settled for green, since it is the next best colour after purple.

    The book that is me: The Valley that Calls
    The poem written about me: The Road not Taken (A poem I actually know!)

    The Canterbury Tales

    For you poetry is the one thing you could not live without. It is your lungs, your air, your oxygen. It's the reason why you memorize absolutely every poem you read. Even if you don't have to! For you, however, the Canterbury Tales is certainly the creme de la creme of poetry. Not only does it draw you in for its lyricism, music, spiritual journey but you are also a people-person and love the life, color and personalities brought out of the poetry. You're also a lover of purity, music and the spiritual journey. You love Canterbury, leprechauns and should probably expect a pot of gold at the end of your rainbow!

    ...what happens when you spam on random choices :meh:
